Usagi (Serena), Naru (Molly) and Ami are admiring the work of Kijin Shibakawa (Peter Fisher), a junior high student who won a national photography award. Usagi (Serena) and Naru (Molly) head to see Kijin (Peter) and ask Ami if she wants to come. Ami declines prefering to study. Usagi (Serena) and Naru (Molly) attempt to get Kijin's (Peter's) autograph but are stopped by Rei, whose school is close to Kijin's.
Some time later, Nephrite saves Kijin (Peter) from falling when he is taking a photograph of a cliff. At this time, Nephrite corrupts Kijin (Peter)'s camera with the force of the Dark Kingdom. This change leads to Kijin (Peter) wanting to take photographs of girls.
While Luna is trying to give Usagi (Serena) her new communicator, Usagi (Serena) is distracted by an advertisement that she found; Kijin (Peter) Shinokawa looking for models. With the new communicator, Usagi (Serena) calls Ami and then Rei telling both about the contest. Luna, Ami and Rei are all disgusted at Usagi (Serena)'s use of the communicator. Shingo (Sam) then comes by and criticises Usagi (Serena)'s intelligence and says that models need to be smart.
Trying for pity, Usagi (Serena) pleads to her mother but is disappointed when her mother agrees with Shingo (Sam).
In an attempt to cheer herself up, Usagi (Serena) goes to the arcade where she receives support from Motoki (Andrew). Unfortunately, Mamoru (Darien) is much less supportive to Usagi (Serena)'s chagrin. He warns her that she'd have to get up early, do what she's told, be on time, and watch what she eats - he knows because he did some modelling after high school to help pay his tuition.
A short time later, Shingo (Sam) confronts Usagi (Serena) who is waiting for the mail to see if she has made it through the first selection. To Shingo (Sam)'s surprise, she does. This 'success' leads Usagi (Serena) to practice being a model to Luna's amusement. Unfortunately for Usagi (Serena), her bathing suit has moth holes in it.
At the second selection, Usagi (Serena) is bewildered at the number of people around. Soon, Usagi (Serena) meets Naru (Molly) and Haruna who are both competing as well. Usagi (Serena) explains the situation about her bathing suit and is comforted by Naru (Molly).
Luna informs Usagi (Serena) that all of the girls that Kijin (Peter) photographed have disappeared. It takes a theft of one of Usagi (Serena)'s ribbons in order to prevent Usagi (Serena) from being photographed. Usagi (Serena) then finally realises the danger of the situation.
After being instructed by Luna, Usagi (Serena) becomes Sailor Moon to defeat Cameran, who has taken Kijin (Peter)'s energy. After an intitial bit of confrontation, Ami and Rei arrive and attack respectively but to no avail. They disappear when their picture is taken. Finally, Sailor Moon defeats the youma with her tiara.
Following the loss to Sailor Moon, Zoisite and Nephrite discuss the results and essentially attack each other over respective failures. Nephrite is sure now he can defeat the Scouts, for they're not invincible if the youma could capture them.
In an interview with Kijin (Peter) he states that a girl's true beauty lies in her heart.
Sailor Moon Says:
Girls spend a lot of time primping and trying to look hot. So do guys, but they don't admit it. But there's more to beauty than looks. Being a beutiful person inside, where it counts. So remember, beauty is more than skin deep.
