Ohtori Academy has quite a history. A long time ago, it was established by the Ohtori family. Unfortunately, their bloodline came down at last to one female. To save the Ohtori name, the girls father adopted a young man name Akio and bethrothed the daughter, Kanae, to Akio. Akio, now an Ohtori, became acting chairman of the school. What nobody knew was that Akio had his own agenda, which included his sister.
Ohtori Academy houses grades Kindergarten all the way to college. This assures that the people you grow up with are your schoolmates, and thus you've known them all your life. Since a good number of the wealthy and powerful attend Ohtori, it is a great opportunity to make contacts.
The location of Ohtori is at the top of a lush, green hill, surrounded by the town of Ohtori. The Academy has traditionally included several sprawling dorms and a rose garden, in addition to the school building itself.
However, the beauty of Ohtori Academy hides a dark secret. Akio has initiated a series of duels, revolving around the aquisition of his sister, Anthy Himemeya, who is referred to as the Bara no Hime, or Bride of the Roses.
Not much is known about these duels, or which students are invovled in them. As Anthy would say, the secrets of Ohtori are mysteries...
