Chapter 2........      "Serena, don't you remember us?"      "Go to hell."she snarled, throwing her champagne in Darien's face, then turning and marching away.      "Oh dear."Lita watched her retreating back, then turned to Darien, who stood transfixed, staring after her."Darien?"      Seiya held out his hanckerchief and Darien took it, wiping the champagne from his face."You knew, didn't you?"he asked Lita.      "Oh Dar, I knew you wouldn't look for her, no matter what I told you, so I decided to help you out and bring the two of you together. You have to admit if it weren't for me you two would never have seen each other again."      "Wait a minute, what the hell is going on here?"Seiya asked sharply, just as Yaten and Ken arrived.      "Why did you run off like that?"Ken asked his wife with anger and suspicion."What are you up too?"      "Why is Serenity so mad? What did you guys say to her?"Yaten said crossly.      Darien would have liked nothing better then to stay and watch his cousins shout at Lita as they always did, but he was more interested in seeing his Serena again. He slipped away unnoticed just as Lita shrank under all there glares and cried that she could explain.      He was searching the room for her when he saw a flash of golden, white hair slip away onto the balcony. He immediately followed.      He found her standing with her back to him, the wind blowing gently through the trees, picking up a bit when he came onto the balcony. Clouds covered the Moon, but when he came they blew aside, the glow of light illuminating them.      "What do you want?"she asked suddenly, surprising him.      "I wanted to see you. Its been a long time Serena."he said quietly, approaching her.      He stopped when she whirled on him, her eyes blazing with anger and hate."Eight years to be exact. Why did you come out here? What do you want? Why aren't you with your precious Lita?"she sneered, then immediately seemed to calm before his eyes, her expression changing to a remote one."I apologize. I'm acting like a child."      "Serena, can we talk? Can we go somewhere?"he said.      "No."she said swiftly."There's nothing to talk about. Absolutely nothing."      "There's lots to talk about. I don't know why your so mad anyway, if I remember correctly, you left me. And you weren't to sad when I-"      "What?! Why....you-you....bastard! You left me!! You betrayed me with her!! I bet you had her come tell me before you did just so that I would already have an idea of what was to come!!"she shouted at him.      The anger left him, replaced by confusion."Her? What do you mean, her? Who are you talking about? I didn't send anyone to tell you anything."      She laughed cynically."Yea right, am I supposed to believe that? She said you had sent her!"      "Who?"his eyes changed."Lita? Do you mean Lita?"      "Oh, who cares? I'm leaving! I've had enough of this."she pushed past him and into the house.      Once inside she was stopped by Seiya, who planted himself in front of her."Where are you going? Are you leaving?"      With everything that had suddenly happened, she had completely forgotten about Seiya."Oh, I'm just having a bad night."      Yaten appeared next to Seiya, his handsome face worried."Serenity, are you alright? Is Seiya pissing you off?"      She laughed when Seiya glared at his brother."Please Yaten, call me Serena, I have to insist. And no, Seiya is being perfect as always."      At that moment Darien joined them, taking her by the arm in a posessive gesture that Seiya had done earlier."Serena, we need to talk. Your not leaving until we do."      "I'm leaving right now."the anger had returned, evident in her rude manner.      Lita came then with Ken, telling him to take his two brothers away, that the three of them needed to talk privately. Ken obeyed, dragging both his little brothers away amid protests.      "You! How can you have the nerve to speak to me after what you did?!"Serena said angrily.      "I can explain."she said calmly.      "I'd like to hear this."Darien said, his voice low and full of surpressed anger.      "I don't want to hear this. I'm leaving. Save your reminiscing for someone else."she attempted to walk away, but Darien tightened his grip on her arm, keeping her in place."Hey! Let me go!"      "Perhaps we should go somwhere more private."Lita suggested as everyone at the party was beginning to stare at them and whisper. She turned and walked out of the room, Darien following with Serena, leading them into Yaten's study."And I'd like to congradulate you on your success Serena."      "Save it, I don't want to be here anymore then you do."she snapped, turned away from them.      "I've changed since we last saw each other Serena, believe it or not."Lita said softly."I wanted to apologize  for lying to you."      "Lying? I have no idea what your talking about."      "I know you remember the last time we were together. The time I told you.....all of those things."      "Spit it out Lita."Darien said, his voice hard.      "Well I hadn't met Ken yet and I thought I was in love with Darien, but it came to me that I wasn't when I did meet Ken, and I'm sorry for everything I said to you that day, it was all lies. I wasn't pregnant with Darien's baby. You see, that was impossible because he's never once touched me."she said in a quick rush, giving them a sad look.      "WHAT?!"Darien bellowed so loud both women jumped."You told her you were pregnant with my child?! Lita, you've pulled some crazy stunts before, but this.....this is too much!!"      "I was afraid Darien! I knew you were in love with her and I knew if you introduced her to your Grandfather, he'd fall in love with her too and I'd be bumped out of being your wife."she cried.      "Wait a minute, what are you saying exactly?"Serena eyes were on Lita now, intense.      "That day.....everything I said was a lie. Darien loved you, not me. He loved you from the first moment he met you. What I did was wrong, I took you two from each other. I've wanted to make up for my mistakes and I knew that you guys must still love each other, so I arranged a meeting."she explained.      Darien was turning red and Serena couldn't help smiling. She remembered well how easily he could become angry."Well, this is something I never thought I'd hear."      "I know, and I'm so sorry! Darien, don't hate me!"she pleaded with him.      "Lita, I'm going to kill you-"he began, his hands reaching for her throat.      Serena stepped between them."Stop it. Calm down Darien."      "Aren't you angry? Don't you want to kill her?"he snapped, glaring at Lita over Serena's head.      "I think she feels guilty enough."Serena said.      And as the three stood there, they began to remember there past together, and how everything had began........
