Chapter 2........      "I'm Seiya McCloud, and who exactly are you?"he asked, studying her with hooded eyes.      For a split second an expression of surprise crossed her features, but quickly faded in the next second, replaced with a smooth smile."My friends call me Rene."      "Rene.....well its a pleasure to meet you."he dismounted and approached her."Your not from around here, are you?"      She laughed softly."Am I that obvious?"      "I would have noticed you either way. Your a very beautiful woman."he smiled when she blushed and looked down, glancing up at him from under her lashs. Its too bad I can't have a go at her this weekend, he thought, but there's always the future.      "Thanks for the compliment. I better get going."she smiled brilliantly at him, causing him to blink."It was nice meeting you, maybe we'll meet again someday."this seemed to amuse her greatly as she turned away from him.      "Wait! I mean, do you have to go so soon? We just met, can't you stay?"he asked desperately, amazed that he was begging her not to go.      "No I can't. I'm sorry. Don't worry, we'll meet again someday, I'm sure of it."with that she got into her car, turned it on, and sped away.       He remained where he was, watching her disappear into the distance. Odd, he thought, what she said. Oh well. He mounted his horse, but still kept his eyes on the distance she had disappeared into. There had been something about her.....something he couldn't quite explain. She was the most beautiful woman he had seen, but there had been something other then that.      He wandered through the country side, riding for hours, losing track of time. He finally went home and left his horse with the stable boy, going inside and through the house toward the stairs. He was on the first step when he heard a laugh, a womans laugh, accompanied by Yaten's deep voice. He almost kicked himself when he remembered that Serena O'Neil was supposed to have arrived sometime ago.      Running a hand through his hair, he didn't even bother to go shower or change his smelly clothes, instead just walked straight into the room and rudely poured himself a brandy, downing it while Yaten and the other woman watched him silently. Finally, he turned to them, his eyes widening in disbelief in the same moment.      There, sitting so calmly and looking more beautiful and pure then anything he had ever seen, was the woman he had met hours before, Rene. Yaten was glaring at him and she was smiling at him as if nothing was wrong.      "Seiya,"Yaten bit out,"this is Serena O'Neil. And Serena,"his voice softened noticibly,"this is my very late and very rude brother Seiya."      She stood and went to him, her hand extended."Its a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. McCloud."      He closed his mouth because he could see Yaten beginning to give him a curious look."Its good to meet you to Serena."he emphasized her name, but she didn't even blink."I'm sorry I'm late. I got held up."      She still didn't lose her smile and he had to give it to her. For a woman he had thought of as a child, she was clever and very good at hiding her emotions. He could feel his respect for her growing greatly.      "Thats all right. Yaten was very good company."she smiled fondly at his little brother, causing his fists to clench at his sides.      Before Yaten could reply, Seiya cut in."Well, shall we go to my study and discuss business?"he asked.      She nodded."Thank you for the company Yaten."she followed Seiya's stiff form out of the parlor and into his study, sitting down in the chair he held out for her. He went around his desk and sat down, not saying a word, but sitting back to study her.      She sat there, looking so calm and serene, so at ease, not at all nervous to be alone with him. He was very impressed by her, very shocked and impressed. This was the last thing he had expected.      Two can play at this game,he thought with a slight smile.      "So,"he said briskly, leaning forward on the desk,"a little girl like you owns that company huh? This is a surprise. And here I thought I would at least be dealing with a woman."he made sure his voice sounded bored as his eyes moved up and down, then dismissed her.      Her eyes flashed, but other then that, she didn't show any change in her expression."Woman or girl, I'm here to discuss business. You've told me you want to buy my company and-"      "Yes well, under my more experienced supervision, your company will become huge and well known. I have many years of experience and I'll take better care of it."      "I didn't come here to be insulted."she said stiffly.      He raised one eyebrow."Insulted? Is that how you look at it? I look at it as the truth. I'm sorry if you can't handle it, but in this business, you have to learn. Your not going to cry now, are you?"he didn't allow her to interrupt him."Besides, don't you have better things to do, like go out with the quarterback of the football team? Or perhaps go to prom or something other."      She stood and slapped her hands on his desk, her eyes on fire with fury."No, instead I have old men trying to hit on me in the middle of nowhere."her referrance was obvious and his easy smile faded."Its actually very amusing to see these old men try, after all, I'm so young and fresh. I'm a little girl compared to them."      "Yes, I have to agree on that point. I-"      "And the way they stare at me, as if there undressing me with there eyes. And they don't even realize there drooling."she sighed greatly, coming around and sitting on top of his desk, her skirt riding up her smooth thighs and catching his eye. Her hand was idly fingering her blouse, where it was unbuttoned to reveal the curve of her breasts."There so dirty, but its so pathetic I don't stop them or say anything. Its such a shame."she looked down at him, smiling when she saw his eyes going from first her thighs to her breasts."Looks like a little girl like me can still get the attention of the very experienced,"she sneered this,"Seiya McCloud."      He stopped staring at her, snapping his mouth shut. She laughed softly, pointing at his mouth."You might want to wipe that."he wiped the drool from the side of his mouth, watching her cross her arms over her chest."Now, are we done with this game?"      He glared at her, then grinned."You amaze me Rene....oh! Oops! I mean, Serena."      She didn't smile."Back to business."      "Cold, aren't you? Well to put it bluntly, I want your company. No merger, all mine. I could handle it better, and thats not an insult, thats a fact."      She stared at him silently, then stood, swinging her purse over her shoulder."It was a mistake coming here. I'm going home."she walked out of his office and was almost out the door before he caught her.      "Where are you going? Are you refusing my offer?"      "That was not an offer Seiya. That was an ultimadum. I'll be in tough if I ever change my mind."she jerked away and walked out of his home.      He watched her go, grinning like an idiot the entire time."No Serena, I'll be in touch.
