Author's Note:Now the story begins with the day of the party and from here on everything will come to a close.   SM does not belong to my by the way! Saturday.....      Serena was snoring so loud it could be heard throughtout the house, her mouth hanging open, drool soaking into her pillow. She was having a very nice dream about eating as much candy as she wanted when the phone suddenly rang, causing her to scream and fall out of bed.      She picked it up, her voice heavy with sleep."Hello?"      "Serena!! Where are you?!" it was Mina, shouting down the phone at her."Its already two in the afternoon and your still not here!"      "Wha.....WHAT?!!"she screeched, jumping up, then tripping and falling on her butt."Oh my God! Oh my God! Um...ok, I'm coming!"she hung the phone up and threw it across the room, racing into the bathroom.      Twenty minutes later she was running down the street toward Andrew's house, turning the corner to see Amy, Lita, and Mina all standing out front.      "Hey guys!"she came to a stop in front of them, panting.      "Why am I not surprised?"Mina shook her head at her.      "Come on Serena, Raye has a surprise she wants to show us."Lita said.      They found Raye in the backyard by the pool, her feet in the water. She grinned at them and stood, her red bikini showing off her slim body.      "Today is a perfect day, just perfect."she was practically glowing with happiness."I'm here with someone."she turned back to the pool just as Darien came up for air, climbing out, wearing only trunks, his strong arms and chest gleaming with water, his black hair plastered to his head, his blue eyes sharp.      "Darien and I came together."Raye announced.      "Raye, thats great!"Mina said.      Serena was dimly aware of her friends hugging Raye and squeeling with delight, but couldn't seem to join in, her eyes locked with Dariens, her lower lip beginning to quiver as she struggled to hold back the rush of tears that threatened to spill over.      "Where's your date?"he asked softly, amazed at the emotion he saw on her face. It was a mirror image of how he felt; pain, sorrow, heartbreak, and betrayal rolled into one.      "I-I don't have a date."she choked up, turning and running into the house.      "What is wrong with that meatball head? First she's two hours late, then she runs off!"Raye huffed, glaring after her."She's probably going to go eat or something!"      Darien began walking toward the house, but Raye's voice stopped him."Darien, where are you going?"      "No where."he remained where he was frowning.      Serena locked herself in the bathroom and stood there feeling sorry for herself for exactly one minute, immediately realizing that what she had done was wrong. She should be happy for Raye and Darien. If they were happy together then so be it. Just because she loved him didn't mean.....      She left the bathroom, bumping into Andrew when she was walking through the house.      "Hey Serena, I was looking for you! I'd heard that you were here, but I wanted to see for myself."      "Yea, sorry I'm so late."she forced herself to be cheery, but even to her own ears she sounded fake.      "Its ok. Come on, lets go get in the pool with everyone else."he took her by the hand and led her outside, the first two people they met Darien and Raye.      "Serena! How could you just run off like that?! And why were you so late?! I can't believe you would sleep in on the day of this party!"Raye yelled at her, then smiled to herself."Not much of a surprise since you can never wake up on time for school either."      Serena reminded herself she had to keep up that everything was normal, that she wasn't upset."Thats not true! I'm not always late for school!"      "Ha!"Raye grabbed onto Darien's arm, frowning when she saw him staring intently at Serena."Darien, lets go sit by the pool."      "Alright."he studied Serena for a moment, then turned and walked away, Raye glued to his side.      Andrew noticed the looks being passed between Darien and Serena and frowned to himself. If Darien loved Serena so much, then why was he here with Raye? And was it his imagination, or were those tears he saw in Serena's eyes?      The barbeque began, with Serena sitting by the grill with Andrew, her eyes focused on the food he was making. One of Andrew's college buddies, Art, sat next to her, teasing and flirting with her.      Darien glared at them from where he sat next to Raye as she chatted a mile a minute with Mina. He cracked his knuckles when Art put his arm around her, casual, yet posessive.      "I'm going to go talk to Andrew."he told Raye, then got up and walked away, not waiting for her answer. He went to stand beside Andrew, noting how Serena blushed a little when she caught him staring at her. Maybe, he thought as hope again returned, just maybe.....      "Hey Darien, I was surprised to see you here with a girl."Art said."Being the loner you are."      Darien gave him a look that shut him up."Serena, your looking good."he whispered, amazed he had complimented her and not insulted her.      She glanced up at him, surprised, then immediately her cheeks turned red."Oh....thanks."      Raye watched them, her nails biting into her palm. Oh, she knew that Darien had very strong feelings for Serena. She'd known since that day they went to lunch together and she was all he had talked about. She didn't think Serena returned the feelings though.      She would help him forget her.      She stood to go join them when some guy popped up in front of her, surprising her."Hi!"he said with a smile."My name's Chad! Your Raye, aren't you?"      She noticed how cute he was. Not as cute as Darien, but still, there was something about him."Yea, I am. How do you know?"      "Oh I've seen you around. I can't help but notice you."he said, then immediately turned red in embarresment.      To her further shock, she also bulshed. No one had ever made her blush. Not even Darien!      Her eyes caught Darien again and she remembered her mission."Um....I have to go. Nice meeting you Chad!"she hurried away.      "Serena, can you come with me for a sec....there's something I want to tell you."he said, his voice a bit shaky.      Her eyes widened, her heart leaping into her throat. Was he going to tell her what she hoped he would?      Raye suddenly pounced on him."Darien, I missed you!"she grabbed him by the head and kissed him.      Serena watched them and knew she just couldn't take anymore of seeing them together."Andrew, I have to go. It was a great party!"she turned and hurried away.      Darien watched her go, then forced Raye off him, holding her away."Raye, I'm sorry, I just can't. Not when I....."his voice trailed off.      "Love Serena?"she finished, smiling slightly at his surprised look."Its prett obvious Darien. You can never keep your eyes off her when she's around."she sighed."Go after her. You should at least try or else you'd never know."      "She's right."Andrew chimed in.      He looked at them both, then grinned ."Thank you....both of you."he turned and ran after her.      Raye turned back to the pool and saw Chad staring at her. She smiled at him and he smiled back.
