Author's Note:Well this is the last part of Till There Was You. It gets very cheesy and all that, but read it and I hope you enjoyed it so far! Thanks to all who supported it! Part 4....      Serena was trudging down the street when she heard someone shouting her name. She turned to see Darien running toward her.      "Serena wait!"he came to a stop in front of her.      All her sadness and anger came to the surface suddenly. What do you want Darien? Did you realize you hadn't insulted me today so you came to make up for that? Did it hit you you were actually being nice to me and not the jerk you really are? Are you going to turn back into that cold, unfeeling, has-no-friends guy that walks around like he's a world unto himself?"she glared up at him."Well? What do you want? Go back to Raye and leave me alone!"she turned and ran away.      Darien remained still, watching her run. She was right. She was totally and completely right. Who was he to think he could ever be diffrent? How could he have ever thought she would love him despite all his faults?      Turning back around, he headed toward the party.      Serena came to stop in front of the lake in central park, plopping down on the grass, burying her face in her knees.      She had just been so hurt and frustrated with seeing them together she had lashed out at him, but what did he care anyway? He'd probably been amused by her outburst like he was by everything she said.      But she could still remember the hurt and shock she had seen in his eyes.      She sat there for hours, even when the sun set into the horizon and left everything dark. Until suddenly someone smacked her on the back of the head.      "Ow!"she rubbed her head and turned to see Raye standing there, hands on hips."Why'd you do that?"      "Because you are the slowest, most dim-witted meatball head in the world!"she snapped.      "Sometimes you can be such a brat Raye."she turned away."Why are you here? Why aren't you with Darien?"      Raye blinked when she realized that was jealousy in Serena's voice."Well...to tell the truth, he dumped me."she said more calmly, sitting next to her.      "He dumped you? Oh Raye, I'm sorry!"      "Thats just like you Serena. Your in love with the guy I'm dating, but when you hear he dumped me you feel bad."      "What?! I'm not-"      "Don't bother hiding it. I can see through you."Raye sighed."He decided he was in love with someone else and was going to chance telling her."she studied Serena, but could tell she had no idea what she was talking about."He went after her, but she hurt his feelings with all the things she said."when Serena still looked confused she groaned in frustration."Its you, you big goofball!!"she shouted.      "Me?!"Serena squeeked, then it all hit her and her eyes widened in horror."Oh my gosh...thats why he followed me...and I.....oh no!"she covered her face with her hands, but in the next second shot to her feet, her face firm."I have to go talk to him! I have to tell him! I have to-"she stopped and looked at Raye."Oh Raye....you and Darien......"she whispered.      "No, its ok."Raye stood and smiled at her."There is no me and Darien....but there might be for you if you hurry your lazy butt up and go to him!"      Serena hugged her hard."Thank you."she said softly.      "No problem. Besides, I've got Chad."Raye laughed at her confused look."I'll tell you later. Go get Darien! He's still at Andrew's.....at least I hope he still is."      She took off running, a new feeling of hope blossoming in her heart. Darien loved her...he loved her! The one man that owned her heart returned her feelings!      With these thought came the deep guilt of everything she had said to him...but she hadn't meant any of it. He would understand that....she hoped he would.      She made it to Andrew's house and when he saw her he smiled, pointing to the balcony on the second floor of his house, Darien standing there alone, looking up at the stars, while everyone else was laughing and setting off fireworks.      She walked up the stairs and to the balcony, stopping in the doorway to stare at his broad back, then moving forward.      "Hello."she said softly.      His back stiffened."What do you want meatball head?"he turned to her, his face cold."Did you come to remind me of the type of guy I am?"      "I deserve anything you have to say to me ....but please don't shut me out Darien. Don't push me away, I couldn't stand it."      He frowned, caught off guard."Serena....what....."      "I have a dream."she cut in, her eyes warm, her hands behind her back as she smiled up at him."A dream of a man who will come for me, protect me, and love me my whole life. I dream of a man who loves to torment and tease me every chance he gets."she watched his eyes change at this, a spark of hope entering them."I dream of a man who I hurt this afternoon, who I hope can forgive me for everything I said to him."      "Serena...."his voice was full of hope as he reached for her, but she stopped him.      "And I dream that he can love me half as much as I love him."she allowed him to pull her into his arms this time and bury his face in her neck, his arms holding her close.      "Oh Serena.....I love you so much.....so much it hurts sometimes..."he whispered.      "I love you too Darien.....and your not alone anymore. You'll never be alone, because I'll always be with you."she soothed, running her hands up and down his back, feeling the tremors passing though him.      "I'm afraid...."he murmured,"afraid of losing you....your so important to me."      "Your not going to lose me. Believe in me, in us."she pulled back and he kissed her gently, holding her close as fireworks lit the dark sky around them.      He gazed down at her lovingly, touching her cheek softly."I never knew....I never knew what love, hope, joy, or happiness was,"he paused and bent to kiss her,"till there was you....."
