Now that the latest (and possibly most graphic ever o_O) Megamixes have been released, it looks like Murakami-sensei had a bit more time to work on her manga continuation, since we managed to get more than the pitiful three pages that made up track 64.
Gravi ended up on the cover again (with Shuuichi looking decidedly LESS shota than he did on the cover from March of last year), and this month you can get that picture (with jelly beans in the background) in wallpaper form by filling out a survey at the end (I haven't had time to do the survey yet, but once I do I can make the wallpaper available for download). There's also an announcement (the second color picture) about a "special printing" being released the 24th of this month. Could the webcomics finally be coming out in book form? Or is it something else? I feel like focusing more on the story right now ('cause it's getting late) rather than translating advertisement print, so maybe I'll get back to it later. Oh, and also, the Japanese issue was free this month (the download options don't include the credit card and web money selections that they normally do, just one labeled "sample", even though it appears to be the complete version). And also (I know, I know, enough random notes already :P), this issue had furigana again, making it much easier to read (though there wasn't all that much dialogue anyway). I have no idea why they appear only sporadically, but I'm glad when they do (much easier to look up words in a dictionary rather than kanji by radicals).
So we left off in the last track with Eiri telling Riku that he killed his father, and we open with Riku running off (with Eiri's scarf in his hands ^_^) Eiri gets up to go after him, and then we switch back to the scene with Touma and Shuuichi, where Touma is saying that, as he thought, the kid that came with them really is.... (he trails off here, but he's obviously referring to the fact that Riku is Kitazawa Yuki's kid. Didn't anyone tell him yet? He seems to be figuring it out himself for the first time). Shuuichi suddenly disappears as Hiro and Suguru watch in shock through Rage's camera (they notice Touma disappears rather quickly, too). Then we go back to Eiri chasing after Riku, yelling at him to at least cry or something (because....Eiri lives on the tears of children?) He says that he's not asking for forgiveness or anything. The next few pages have no dialogue, just images: first, we see Riku running into the street and a truck heading straight for him (I know some Riku-hating fans must be rejoicing right now). Then there's a two page spread of Eiri pushing Riku out of the way (and the fangirls hoping for Riku's untimely death all groan). Then there's another two page spread with Shuuichi flying through the air and kicking the shit out of the truck (DAMN! Boy'll do anything to protect his man! ^_^) Then there's some reaction shots: Hiro and Suguru wonder what all the big noise is, Shuuichi checks to see if Riku and Eiri are OK....and we see Eiri hunched over with a bunch of blood coming from his forehead. Shuuichi seems unable to move as Touma runs forward in a panic....end of track (those bastards!)
Well, I guess the reconciliation of Eiri and Shuu might have to wait until Eiri's not bleeding all over the place. But at least they finally saw each other again after being apart for four tracks. Maybe after this we'll finally get to see the ramifications of the whole cheating fiasco.
