So hot and dry
Shimmering waves
Aboundless heat
Sucks your life away
It is the desert
The cacti and the sand
Lizards roam, and snakes patrol
And water a precious resource
Look abroad there
You want the shade
You wish for wind, coolness
There is too much heat
The sun is high
Beating hard down
Even as the day lingers on
The temperatures are astounding
This is the desert
It is dry, so very dry
But it is my home
And I wouldnt change it, ever
