Look around you
And consider
Who is a real friend
Who is your true friend
One person's friend
Another one's enemy
Hostility, perhaps
But what is a friend?
Friend - 6 letters
Yet with many meanings
The "friend" I'm talking about
Is the one with significance
Not the "friend" you label
Upon a person you hardly know
Not a friend of a friend
Nor a bare acquaintance
A real friend, always there
Help you when you're down
Be there when you need it
Always trying to lift that frown
Friends, willing to talk
You can argue and still be friends
False friends use you
Then laugh behind your back
But true friends
They're hard to find
Rare, to be trusted
As priceless as any jewel
Next time you call someone friend
Consider it, hard
Just for a moment, reflect
Friend or "Friend"?
Friendship has a meaning
And if a true friend, there's a bond
Your friends are always special
And nothing can break that tie
Nothing
Not other people nor time
If they're true friends
They'll show, somehow, they care
