I sit here now and watching
The simple seeming flight
Of a bird soaring through the air
Piercing the endless night
I sit here now and watching
The bird that cries out loud
Whose broken heart does issue
The most lonesome seeming sound
I sit here now and watching
The birds that dip and wheel
Who turn upon such weightless wings
To dive and flip and creel
I sit here now and watching
Those that seem so free
Forever now to wander
Those boundless eternities
I sit here now and watching
My life gone flying by
And on the wings of that bird
I'll never know just why
I sit here now and waiting
For a bird to take me home
To tell me what I'm watching for
And no longer be alone Text file Source (historic): geocities.com/sailorstel/poems
