A promise is a promise
Something you have to keep
Or else the person you made it to
Will hurt inside quite deep
A promise is a promise
You should always fulfill your word
For if you go ahead and break it
You will never again be heard
Promises are quite vital
They build upon a persons trust
Relying on you to carry through
Because believing is a must
Many people promise things
And break them just as soon
Personally, I think those folks
About as crazy as a loon
For the more promises you break
The more people seem to be wary
And they dont believe you anymore
Making it almost scary
Youll find yourself left alone
Separate from the rest
All because you didnt keep your word
Dont you know its for the best?
So go ahead, do whats right
Keep that promise that you made
And always try to right your wrong
For if you dont, its a dire trade
