     One girl walked through halls
     Walked through them every day
     One girl went to classes
Yet did not caper, nor did play

One girl with a lack of luster
     Dullness in her eyes
     Her very heart a calmness
     A void, though none realized

     Her life without a purpose
     No goals to stride ahead
     Everyday so boring
Nothing to like or even dread

There was no point in living
Or so she did so feel
     Nothing to look forward to
     Life, an unfair deal

And so one day she stood
     High above a lake
     Off a bridge she jumped
Her own life she did take

     When people heard the news
     They paused and looked around
"What did we do," they wondered
To induce her to hit the ground

     Yet one boy stood apart
     Tears threatening to spill
     He knew what had happened
What changed her state of will

He was the one and only friend
     That she really had
     Then he made new friends
And decided she was a cad

So he left her far behind
     Ignoring her each day
And her heart grew so heavy
And her mind began to stray

He had broken the special bond
     Held between the two
His new friends cared not as much
Just the answers, not the you

     The special bond between them
     Had simply dissolved away
She had nowhere else to turn to
With no more reason to stay

Rumor says the boy did leave
From school, from friends, from all
And went to that very bridge
     Staring down, as if enthralled

The words that escaped his lips
Were ones of sorrow and tears
"Im sorry I did this to you
Made true the worst of fears.

     "I broke our special bond
     Our friendship was truly lost
And if I had only known
     The truly dreadful cost."

     He sat there slowly weeping
     But then a feeling came
     The feeling of forgiveness
     An entity with a name

     The feeling warmed his heart
And with it came a smile
     Perhaps the bond wasnt gone
But it would certainly take a while

     Never would he be alone
     Despite all desperate times
For he had someone always there
     Someone that would always shine

     That special bond persisted
     Even through the death
But this might not always be the case
Bonds broken with a single breath

     Dont let friendships be lost
     Shattered just like glass
     Like a house of cards
     So easily to collapse

     Let friendship be so special
Let it be that special bond
And dont let others sway you
In the end, dont be conned
