The Union of Catholic Mothers, whose aim is to follow the full Christian ideal
of marriage and family life, was founded in 1913 to unite catholic married
women.
Meetings provide fellowship and friendship and a blend of social and spiritual
activities. The UCM meetings, literature and contacts provide fresh interests.
Opportunity is provided for interesting and valuable catholic action but this
should not be undertaken at the expence of personal family life.
We have members all over the country and worldwide links with
women who seek and strive for justice and peace. We ensure
that our voice is heard at national and international level.
Permanent marriage and stable families are our aim, but we try to understand and
help where difficulties are experienced.
By belonging to the UCM, members meet women with similar experiences, concerns
and joys.
They find support and encouragement, their learning and celebrations improve by
sharing in the local, diocesan and national groups. All benefit from our daily
mass scheme, individual and shared prayers and the fun and friendship of regular
meetings.
