| PASTORAL COUNCIL REPRESENTITIVE: Jim Hale 454-2196 Coordinator of Religious Education: Jim Hale 453-2089 The goal of the ministry of Religious Education is: To provide an ongoing development of our Catholic faith for all of our parishioners through programs/ classes/ distance learning that will help them grow in the knowledge and love of Christ and His Church: And to provide programs for our parishioners that will lead them to a fruitful reception/living of the sacraments. BAPTISM PREPARATION: Contact: Annie Hale 453-2089 Baptism preparation deals with both the theology of Baptism and the particular arrangements which must be made by couples seeking Baptism for their children. The class is usually the third Tuesday of each month at 7 PM in room B. Parents are asked to call to confirm the date and to make a reservation. Once parents complete the paperwork, Baptisms are arranged to be celebrated after Mass or during Mass. CONFIRMATION PREPARATION: Contact: Paul Horan 453-2089 This two year preparation is provided for high school students starting at the 9th grade level. Regular instruction, thirty service hours and two retreats are required. FIRST RECONCILIATION: Contact: Father Mancuso 453-2089 Reconciliation preparation is provided in the Parish School of Religion during the second grade. The sacrament is also provided for older children outside of regular scheduled class time in a small group or individual instruction when needed. FIRST EUCHARIST: Contact: Jim Hale 453-2089 First Eucharistic preparation is provided in the Parish School of Religion during second grade. Parents are to attend a preparation class in the spring to help prepare their second grade child or older to receive this sacrament. A group First Communion Eucharistic celebration for the second grade is in May. PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION: Contact: Paul Horan 453-2089 This instructional program is well defined in curriculum and provides traditional religious education, involvement in the Sunday Mass and integration of charitable and justice works. The Parish School of Religion meets Sunday morning, September to May. The cost is $35.00 for one child; $50.00 for two or more children. The program is open to all children three years old (by July 1 ) through the tenth grade of registered and active parishioners. Home study programs are also available. |
