Well, it's an egg you say - yes a giant surprise egg. My kids got the surprise, I got the wrappings.
Too good to throw away!

I stuck the two halves of the egg firmly together. The egg had its own base so it stood up without
my help. I then went down the DIY centre to see what they had on offer for car paint spray.

This sparkling blue was just the job and did a good job of hiding the join at the same time. I then cut out a larger styropor base. I Cut out a piece of matting larger than the styropor base, leaving plenty of overlap so that the overhanging grass matting drops down to the tabletop. Using the base of the egg to line the cut, I cut a hole in the matting to the shape of the base of the egg ( I was lucky here that the base of the egg was as wide as the egg itself). After glueing the egg to the styropor base, the matting was simply pulled on over the top of the egg and stuck down to the styropor base. Add foliage and real stones for decoration. I also added a horse's skeleton to give it more character.
Now all that's missing are the eldar transfers.
A word about transfers on curved surfaces. You've probably all tried this and realise they don't sit tight to curved surfaces. You can get a transfer softening fluid that makes them fit to curved surfaces. This fluid softens the plastic carrier film of the transfer causing it to take the form of the surface it's on. This may take some time (up to two days or more) and require several applications of the fluid before the transfer fits properly - have patience!
Now, where are those falcon transfers!
