This was a quick model. I decided I didn't want to fork out 400 quid for a GW Thunderhawk model, so I grabbed a Starships Troopers' retrieval ship and started to take it to bits. I took out all the innards. The accompanying bombs were repainted and are now used for battlefield decorations.

After carving out the two pilot's seats to make room for a single space marine pilot (I used the legs off a landspeeder pilot), I filled in all the screw holes with putty. I then added a flamer and some other 40k bitz. The two original cannons on the side of the cockpit were cut down to look more like heavy bolters and then I gave the whole thing a respray.

A few transfers on top, et voila, my mini thunderhawk. All for $15.00
