| | The figure on the left is one of the models that brought my son and I into the world of 40K. On his
twelth birthday, my mother presented my son with a squad of 5 marines, including paints, and I ended up painting them for him. I painted them up as I thought fit. We had
no idea of 40k at this time. After painting them, I remembered the old space crusade game on the book shelves. We'd bought it years ago but still had n't got round to
playing it and I started to paint the game figures. This was not my first attempt at painting figures; as a teenager, my brothers and I used to play classical napoleonic
wargames. Only 2 months later, after a lot of browsing around on the net, did I go out and buy a 40K starter box. I knew nothing about blood angels or dry brushing as I painted these first 5 figures. My son had never painted any figures before and I was wondering whether he would ever
pick it up. You see, my son sits in a wheelchair and I've been trying all his life to get him interested in a hobby. Well, I gave him the finished tac squad to use
as models to copy - the results of his work you can see below. I'll leave you to judge his work , but I was amazed by what he turned out for a first timer.
