PIPE EXPLOSION. The Emergency Management Office says an underground pipe of Hanson Micronesia Cement exploded at around 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday while cement was being transferred through the pipe from the seaport. Anthony Tenorio of EMO's Response and Recovery Team said the explosion caused a hole on the ground and covered the surrounding area and trees with cement. EMO, the Department of Public Safety, the Division of Environmental Quality and Coastal Resources Management personnel helped the company to immediately cover the pipe and the hole.
