![]() Bhagawan Sri Satya Baba was born on the 23th of November 1926 in Puttaparthi as Satyanarayana Raju. It was a Monday of the holy month of Karthika. He was born to Eswaramma and Pedda Venkappa Raju. Puttaparthi is a small village in the District of Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India. At the age of 14, Bhagawan renounced Himself and declared 'I am SAI BABA' and left to the devotees who were calling Him. Prashanthi Nilayam became the 'ashram' of Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi. It was inaugurated on 23rd November 1950. Devotees from all parts of the world flock to see Swami (as he is widely known) throughout the year. During festives, the crowd is so huge that only with the grace of Swami that such a small village as Puttaparthi is able to bear the millions that flock to it. He is the only Spiritual Leader in the world that has attracted so many millions of devotees from all religions, caste, creed and countries. His mission is to restore the ancient wisdom in all religions through the five core principles of His teachings - Sathya (Truth), Dharma (Righteousness), Shanti (Peace), Prema (Love) and Ahimsa (Non-violence). He is also here to give us Ananda (Eternal Bliss) i.e. to guide us into Liberation. Bhagavan Sri Satya Sai Baba is the Avathar incarnate, the Paramatma, the embodiment of Love Himself.
