| It is the year 1999, an event known as the Second Impact occurs. As a result gaint creatures known as Angels emerge. These Angels have the power to create an impenetrable force field known as the AT. Nothing can pierce this barrier, or so it seems. In an attempt to save the world, giant mechas known as Evas emerge, these massive machines can penetrate the Angel's AT. The only problem is that these Evas must be piloted by 14 year old kids. Meaning basically you need special 14 year old children. Children with a special gift no average 14 year old has.
