Here's a little History lesson for those who may actually care. :-) Saiyan-Gohan's DBZ Site first started in early 2000. This was my very first time ever editting anything online. All of my images were remotely linked from other sites. I had no idea the wrong in this, since I was a newbie at site-making in general. Then, a friend of mine told me how it slowed down other sites, and generally wasn't a good idea. Next, the site's name changed to ''The planet Kanassa''. This site had my first attempt at an image banner. It was a 650 x 140 or something solid black block with ''The planet Kanassa'' written on it, and a picture of SSJ3 Goku on the side. (The Goku image had a white background, so it looked like crap.) This is when I first learned how to upload my own images, and link them. About, 4 or 5 months later, I changed it's name again to ''The Dead Zone''. This was a pretty cool-looking layout. It was orgnae and red, with a black background, and it had flashy-looking orange lines going everywhere, and the banner had a solid black background for a change. :-). This was around the time when I first learned you could actually edit images and sprites, using the magnifying glass tool in MS Paint. Finally, came the most-known name of them all. Saiyaman's Hide-Out. This name was actually suggested to me by a friend, and so was the slogan for it: "Hands down, swift Justice." Anyway, shortly after this, I learned how to animate GIFs. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world (And still sorta do. Heh, heh.) that you could actually make things move, and do whatever you want with them. I used an ordinary GIF animator called ''Microsoft GIF Animator.'' It wasn't very good, considering all it could do was put frames together and animate them, and make the background transparent, and looping features. Anyway, enough about my GIF History, back to the site. Saiyaman's Hide-Out was without a doubt the longest held name for my site. It went through several layouts, and even accidently got deleted once. Then finally I decided to put Saiyaman's Hide-Out to rest. Original GIF Archives is the spawn of my obsession over animated GIFs. I noticed I was only concerned with the GIFs on Saiyaman's Hide-Out, and basically nothing else, so I decided to make my site dedicated primarily to Animated GIFs, and sprites. After about, 2 weeks of having Original GIF Archives up, I shut it down, because I was getting tired of updating, and I joined onto a bigger site, called DBZ Xtreme. Well, the owner of that site stopped working on it, so I decided to open this one back up. But this time, I plan to work on it, and update it frequently. There you have it. That's basically the nearly 3 year history of my site in a nutshell. Class dismissed. |
