Episode XII – The fortuneteller…
Fortunetellers… they claim to see the future. Either using a crystal ball, palm reading, or looking at the stars, they try to help people with their skill. But to most people, they are fakes who want only money from their customers. But is this really true? No one can see the future? Or is there someone that can?

“Hmm… better go home.” Kaede thought.
After another day of studying, Kaede now heads home. He decided not to join up with Sakura and others. He’s thinking about what happened yesterday, about Sari and about Sakura’s new power as a summoner.
“Sakura… Clow must be right. The power of a Card Master has been attained.”
He continues to walk. Seeing people doing their business, others having fun. He looks up in the sky thinking about this town.
“Tomoeda… such a beautiful town.”
But then, he collided with a girl. Both of them fell down.
“I’m so sorry!” The girl said.
“That’s ok. Let me help you pick up your things.”
“Thank you…”
Kaede helped the girl in picking up the things she dropped and helped her get up to her feet.
“Thanks for helping me get these things.” The girl said.
“Well, you’re ok now… see you around.” Kaede said.
“Wait…”
“Huh?”
“Please, I want to treat you for helping me!” The girl pleaded.
“There’s no need for that.”
“But I insist!”
“Boy, she won’t stop. Maybe I should just give in, I don’t want to turn down an offer, especially from a girl,” He thought.
“Ok…”
“I’m glad! Now let’s go!” She holds his arm.
“Hey!” Kaede said.
She simply smiled at him.
“Oh what the heck…” He thought. “This day is going longer than I thought…”
The two went on.
--== At School ==--
“Where’s Kaede-kun?” Sakura asked.
“He left earlier, he wants to be alone for a while…” Li answered.
“Eh? Is that true?”
“No! I talked to him earlier… he needs to get home early. Li, get your facts straight.” Eriol frowned.
“What’s wrong with Li-kun today?” Chiharu wondered.
“I don’t know… he’s like that in the morning…” Rika said.
“Li-kun… is there something wrong…” Tomoyo thought.
“Well… we better go home now…” Li said in a cold tone.
“Why is Syaoran like that? Hey Kinomoto-san, did you do something bad to him?” Meilin asked.
“No! I won’t do such a thing!” Sakura pleaded.
“Anyway, it’s getting late now…” Eriol said.
“Okay…”
“See you tomorrow!” Tomoyo waved.
They went home, Sakura is deeply worried about Li.
“Syaoran… why? Please tell me!”

Li already left them and walks alone.
“How foolish…” Then someone appeared in front of him.
“So… Sakura became the Summoner as you have predicted.”
“Yes… things are going according to my plan.”
“But, we lost twice to them already. How come you call that a success?”
“It is a victory… it’s just too early to make our move.” Li said.
“So… our plan will continue?”
“Yes… let’s not stray away from it.”
“Ah… my client speaks big this time huh?” Another man appeared.
“Watch your tongue, Ryuga!” The man said.
“That’s ok… so, as a bounty hunter, what do you think about the fighting ability of them?” Li asked.
“Hmm… I haven’t fought an opponent like them for such a long time… it will be very ugly…” Ryuga said.
“Hmm… Sari lost to Sakura, she’s overconfident about that battle, I already warned her, but she didn’t listen.” Li said.
“I’m sure that I won’t make that mistake… I’ll analyze their capability well. Especially that Messiah, he’s so interesting.”
“But he’s the one who will try to stop us. Fate failed to remove him earlier, he’s very dangerous…”
But as they talk, Sakura approaches.
“Your cherry blossom is here… we’ll meet again.” Ryuga teleported out of the scene.
“Yes… there she is…”
“I better leave too, Master.” The man said.
“Ok… watch the others carefully.”
“Hai…” The man disappeared.
“Syaoran!” Sakura catches up.
“Sakura…” Li smiled.
“Are you alright? I feel that you’re not feeling well.”
“I’m okay. Sorry about what I've done today…”
“Syaoran…” Sakura hugs him.
“If you have any problems, please tell me ok?”
“Sure…” Li said.
“You are such a fool, Sakura…”

--== At a Fast-food Chain ==--
“So, you’re studying at Tomoeda High School?” The girl asked.
“Yeah… you study there too?” Kaede said.
“Yup!”
“But I don’t see you around…”
“It’s because I’m one of those special students.”
“Special? You mean honor type students?”
“Quite… but there’s something else too.”
“Oh… we chatted a bit but we haven’t introduced ourselves yet.” Kaede said.
“Oh… you’re right.”
“I’m Kaede Suzuhara, pleased meeting you.” Kaede introduces himself.
“I’m… Iris…” Iris introduces herself.
“Oh, nice meeting you Iris.”
“You’re welcome…”
But Kaede noticed something about her. “Hey, I just noticed… why are your eyes closed?”
Iris looks down.
“Oh… sorry, did I offend you?”
“It’s ok. I’ve been like this all of my life.”
“Could you please show your eyes to me?” Kaede asked.
“!”
“But… if I do that you will hate me.” Iris said in a sad tone.
“Now who would hate you just for that?” Kaede thought, “You’re beautiful… and that’s true…"
Those words made her think, should she do it or not? “I guess it's ok for you…”
She slowly opens her eyes. Kaede is surprised, but felt sad. “Oh… you’re blind.”
“I knew it… you will hate me…” Iris felt sad.
But he smiles instead. “That’s not going to change. You’re still beautiful…”
“Kaede-san…” Tears fall.
“Sometimes, a person does not need eyes to see the beauty of the world. That’s all that I can say.” Kaede touches her cheek.
“I’m at debt of your kindness… allow me to repay it for you.”
“Okay…” Kaede waits.
There, she draws out a pack of cards and starts meditating. Kaede noticed these cards.
“Wait… those are for the fortuneteller’s work!”
“Yes… I’m a fortuneteller…”

Kaede felt magic within those cards.
“She’s not an ordinary fortuneteller… she can use magic…” He thought.
“My family uses magic in this manner, we got it from our ancestors many years ago.” Iris explained.
“Oh… so you can really foretell the future?”
“I can, but I cannot…”
“What do you mean by that?” Kaede is puzzled.
“A person must decide his or her future. No magic can prevent that, so I can only help people decide in their life.” Iris said.
“You’re right about that…”
The magic flows out to her hands and mixes it with the cards. Those engulfed Kaede in a misty haze.
“Wow… you’re incredible.”
“But you’re much better…” Iris smiled.
“Eh?”
“I felt your powerful magic the moment I met you. You’re special… are you the one that my parents call “Messiah?” ” She asked.
“You know about the legend?”
“Yes… one of our family members became a candidate 150 years ago. But sadly, he isn’t the one.”
“I’m sorry about that…”
“That’s ok. But I’m happy that I met the one who will destroy Fate once and for all.” Iris smiled.
Iris now starts her incantation.
Spirits of time, allow the passage to the future be opened for this young man! I command it!
The mist is slowly being absorbed by Kaede, he feels at heaven while it’s happening. Then, his consciousness transported him somewhere.
“What is this? It’s dragging me through time!”
There, flashes of his life appear one by one, from his birth till today and onward to the future. He sees what may happen, but it’s too fast to see clearly.

Then it stops, he found himself somewhere, standing at a crumbled building.
“This future… no way…” Iris said.
Kaede found himself at the Tokyo Tower, everything else is completely destroyed.
“Oh my… the future didn’t change? This is not true…”
There he sees two people, badly wounded. He comes nearer.
“What the?”
The two attacked, it seems that this is the last blow.
“DIE!” The man said.
“I will protect the future… I will save it!” The other said.
Their swords clashed, one is completely shattered.
“No!”
“There is no more future!” The man stabbed him.
One of them falls down; the other stands victorious.
“The Fate has won! It has been said. It will come true! Hahahahahahahaha!” He disappeared.
“Fate? No!” Kaede rushes to the fallen man.
He turns him around, showing his face. He was shocked.
“No! It’s me!”
“It’s the Messiah! But… he lost… why?” Iris’ tears fall.
As Kaede is still shocked, a woman goes near it and cries as she held his body.
“KAEDE!!!” The woman cried.
“This… isn’t true…” Kaede said.
Then he was shot back to the present.
“Oh… I’m back… Iris?”
Iris bursts into tears. She can’t believe on what she saw. Kaede wipes her tears away, smiling even though he sees the same thing.
“It may be the future but as you said, I can still control it.”
“Yes… but… It may be our future.” Iris said.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to back down! I can change the fate… I’m here to defy it…”
“I know you can…” Iris feels better.
“At least I have a head start on what to do… I must prevent that from happening.”
“You will find a way, I’m sure of that.”
“Oh… it’s getting late now. Perhaps we should go home now.” Kaede said.
“Yes…”
Iris picks up the cards and joins Kaede out of the place.
“So, where do live?” Kaede asked.
“Oh, if it’s okay for you, would you come along?” Iris said.
“Okay…”
Iris takes his hand and started running again.
“Oh… I want to learn more about her…” He thought.
--== Sakura’s House ==--
“Is Li acting strange?” Kero asked.
“Oh… kinda… he’s not himself during the day.” Sakura replied.
“Hmm… I wonder if that’s linked in why he didn’t show up when we need his help.”
“Syaoran wouldn’t do such a thing!”
“Sakura… but it’s strange… why he didn’t help you out?”
Sakura fell silent on that question. She doesn’t know what to answer.
“Oh… I’m sorry did I make you upset?”
Sakura nodded.
“It’s so strange…” Kero looks at the window.
“Syaoran…”
Then, they felt something.
“Sakura… this kind of energy…” Kero sensed it.
“It’s monsters!” Sakura identified it.
“Come on! Let’s go beat them!” Kero flies out.
“Okay…” She uses Fly. The two now head toward the location where monsters are detected.

--== Heading toward to Iris’ House ==--
“Monsters! Why are they here?” Kaede said.
“That’s not good…” Iris said.
“I think we have to fight.”
The monsters now sees the two, they head to their direction.
“They’re coming!” Kaede readies himself.
“You should get out of here…” Iris said.
“No… I’m not going to leave you.”
“But… this is not your battle…”
“That’s ok. It becomes my battle now too…” Kaede smiled.
Iris is enchanted by his smile, urging her to go on. The monsters now attack them.
“Okay… can you fight?” Kaede asked.
“Don’t worry, I can…” Iris replied.
And the battle starts!
A few blocks away…
“Eriol-kun… did you sense it too?” Sakura asked.
“Yeah… I think it’s just around here…” Eriol looked around.
Ruby Moon, Spinel Sun and Tomoyo joined in.
“So, where are they?” Keroberos said.
“I’m still not sure…”
Meilin and Li appeared.
“Meilin-chan! Syaoran!” Sakura waved.
“We felt something, that’s why we came here.” Meilin said.
“Eriol… how many are they?” Li asked.
“There are a lot of them, but they are spread out, it should be easy for us to attack then.” Eriol replied.
“Syaoran… you’re here…” Sakura hugs him.
“I’m always here for you… Sakura…”
“Oh no! They’re heading in this direction!” Ruby Moon said.
The monsters appeared, surrounding them.
“We’re surrounded! What shall we do?” Tomoyo panicked.
“We got no choice but to bust them…” Li said.
“Alright! I haven’t got a good fight in a long time, well finally I can practice again!” Meilin readies herself.
“Meilin-chan is really psyched about this huh?” Sakura said.
“Yeah…” Li smiled.
“LET’S GO!”
And they attacked the enemy.
-= Back to the other side =-
Monsters are destroyed left and right by Kaede. Iris is preparing her magic to fight alongside him.
“Darn, they won’t stop.” Kaede continues slashing them using Madoushi.
“Master! They are relentless!” Alastor said.
“I know… we must stop them!”
Stinger!
Many monsters are destroyed. Iris is still charging up, when monsters attacked her from behind.
“Iris!” Kaede said.
Then, she starts casting magic.
Wand of the angels, protect me with your blessing and extinguish the impure and the pure evil!
A field of energy surrounds her, destroying the attacking monsters. She puts up her hand.
Appear before me!
A staff materializes from her hand. She’s ready.
“Kaede-san… I’m sorry if I took so long…” Iris said.
“That’s ok… but wow I’m impressed…”
“Really? Thank you!”
Together, they destroyed the monsters easily.
“Kaede… try using the Kinomoto/Daidouji…” Clow said.
“Hmm… right.” Kaede starts an incantation.
The weapon that defines Love and Friendship, combine and fight as one!
Kaede summons Kinomoto/Daidouji!
“Kaede-san… those are guns right?” Iris asked.
“Yeah… and I’ll try them for the first time…”
Monsters line up and attack him.
“Okay… get ready to be blasted!”
He fires the guns, the bullets hit them at an incredible rate, it’s far more faster than a machine gun.
“This is so cool!” Kaede exclaimed.
After firing, a lot of monsters are destroyed.
“Wow… you killed them all!” Iris is amazed.
“Yeah, it impresses me too.”
Some of the monsters run away.
“Whew… looks like they ran away.” Kaede said.
“But… this is strange…”
“Why? Did this happen before?”
“Yes… I was able to defeat them… but this time… the monsters feel so different… it’s like they’re afraid or something…”
“Hmm… in any case we should follow them, your questions may be answered.” Kaede said.
“Right…” Iris agreed.
And they followed the retreating monsters.

--== Iris’ House ==--
“There’s my home…” Iris said.
As they ran, many monsters are killed, but most of them aren’t killed by them. Who did?
“Someone must have fought them…” Kaede said.
It didn’t take long; they found the person.
“There he is!” Iris pointed.
They saw the man, and there are still monsters trying to attack him, but he seems ready for this…
“I already warned you… leave or die…”
But they didn’t listen; they continued their assault.
Platina! Destroy the evil!
They are destroyed in one attack. Kaede notices the person.
“Jeust! What are you doing here?”
“Kaede! It’s a weird way to see each other again.” Jeust said.
Kaede and Iris runs towards him.
“So… you killed them all.”
“Yeah… I don’t know why are they attacking, but it may has links to the Fate itself.” Jeust said.
“Now wait… the Fate is using these monsters?” Kaede wondered.
“Apparently… yes.”
“But… how come they attack innocent people?” Iris asked.
“I’m not that sure why…”
Jeust sees her, and is stunned. “You’re the one I’m looking for!”
“Eh?” Iris is puzzled.
“Kaede… please excuse me…” Jeust goes near Iris.
“Jeust… what’s wrong?” Iris asked.
“Fight me…”
“Eh? I can’t do that!”

“You’re the fortuneteller that I saw in my records! I want to see it for myself if you hold that power…” Jeust said.
“You mean… the magic of my ancestors?”
“Yes… now, I want to see it.” Jeust prepares himself.
“Hey! Stop this! There’s no need to fight!” Kaede tries to stop the two.
“Kaede-san… it’s ok. My parents told me about this…” Iris is also ready.
“But…”
“It’s alright. Ok?” She smiles at him.
“Okay…”
Sakura and others appeared.
“Kaede-kun!” Sakura said.
“I see that you guys fought the monsters too.”
“Yeah, and we just cleaned them out!” Ruby Moon said.
“Hey! What’s that? Are they fighting?” Meilin wondered.
“It’s Jeust! What is he doing here?” Li asked.
“It’s a long story…” Kaede replied.
“Let’s stop them from fighting.” Eriol said.
“No… they want to…”
“Eh?” Everyone said.
Jeust and Iris are ready.
“Are you ready?” Jeust asked.
“I am…” Iris replied.
The two attacked each other. Their speed is very fast.
“They’re fast!” Keroberos said.
Platina! Attack!
Jeust attacks her, but she evades it.
Shower of crystals, rain down to the opposition! Prism!
Iris fires crystals at him.
“She’s good… she has it…”
The two stopped attacking.
“I’m impressed… now show me your real skill!” Jeust uses a talisman.
I, Jeust Lian, ask the talisman, Answer me! What are you?
I am the wind, I can bring forth destruction to anyone in my path!
The wind is infused to Jeust, and he attacked.
“The woman is in danger, he uses wind to cut her down!” Spinel Sun said.
“Oh no!” Sakura said.
But Iris is just standing there.
“She’s not moving, why?” Eriol thought.
“She’s casting magic…” Li said.
“Are you sure about that?” Tomoyo asked.
“Yes… I can somehow feel it.”
Kaede waits wondering what’s going to happen. “Iris… I have faith in you.”
“Now! Show me your power!” Jeust charges at her.
Then, Iris lets out a glow. A flow of energy comes to her. She starts to cast a spell.
Four corners, four elements, combine together in a harmonic fusion… awake yourself! And show your power! Angelic Ankh!
Iris uses Angelic Ankh, lets out a howl! Diamond Execution!
They clashed. And both of them are knocked down.

“Iris!” Kaede runs toward her…
“It’s done now…” Iris smiled.
“Kaede-kun! Is she alright?” Sakura and others runs towards him.
“Yeah…”
“I am impressed…” Jeust gets up.
“You amaze me too…” Iris recovers.
“So… is it finished now?” Kaede asked.
“Yes… Iris has the power of her ancestors inside her… My records are true then…” Jeust said.
“So, she’s the fortuneteller that you’re looking for?” Tomoyo asked.
“Yes. Looks like that my guess is true.”
“What guess?” Kaede wondered.
“You see, it is prophesized that a Hunter and a Fortuneteller will come and assist the Messiah in his battles… It will only happen once. And this is it. My parents trained me in the art of fortunetelling to find the Messiah and assist him. That’s why I found you, Kaede-san…” Iris explained.
“So, Jeust you’re just waiting for this moment…” Eriol said.
“Yes…” He bows down to Kaede.
“Messiah… allow me to help you fight the Fate…”
“Sure… and call me Kaede instead…” Kaede shakes his hand.
“Okay…”
The battles are over for now.
“It turned for the best, right Syaoran?” Sakura hugs him.
“Yeah…” He looks up to the sky.
There is someone looking at them, far away.
“Hmm… looks like the party is getting interesting! I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next!” Ryuga disappeared.
