"I won!I won!"cheered Sakura Kinomoto happily. Her bedroom door opened and in came Touya,looking very,very annoyed.
What do you think are
you doing,making so much noise at an unholy hour?"
"Big Brother,it's already way past 6am!"she reasoned,her smile still on her face."Besides you're just saying that because you're jealous."
"Of what?"Touya wanted to know.Honestly,he didn't know what kind of force of nature conspired with his mom to give him such a pretty but stubborn little sister like Sakura.
"Well,I entered a rollerskating contest yesterday and I won!My prize is a three day no-expenses trip to Paradise Inn which is like,the hottest resort in town." "How lovely.You know what,I would love to get you out of my face for 72 hours or so but I won't let you leave this house without a companion.Understood?"said Touya.
"Ok,"sighed the girl.
"Oh c'mon Tomoyo,please!"pleaded the emerald-eyed
girl. Tomoyo Daidouji sadly shook her head."I'm sorry but my mother won't
let me leave this place without my bodyguards and well,they're on vacation."
Sakura let out a defeated sigh.She already asked most of her classmates but they backed out when they learned they had to pay for half the price of the vacation.Her big brother's generosity strikes again.
"You haven't asked me yet."a voice interrupted her thoughts from behind.She turned around and saw her classmate Li Syaoran looking at her. "A-Are you talking to me?"Sakura's voice was tentative.Why on earth will Li-kun be interested in her affairs?
"Who else would I be talking to,your shadow?"he asked bitingly. "But you gotta pay for it.."began the girl.
The boy walked to her desk and placed \ some bills on her desk."I got it covered.I really need a break from all these battles."and I need to be alone with you.he added in his mind. Sakura smiled."Thank you so much!Now I can go to Paradise Inn already!"
Li felt his throat go dry.Everything about Sakura affects him-her smiling emerald eyes,her angelic voice,her sunny smiles,her kindness-both physically and emotionally.He cleared his throat."Uh Sakura,can I ask you something but please don't get mad." "Sure,fire away."she replied breezily.
"D-Do.."he forced his voice to remain steady."..you l-like Eriol?"Alright here it comes,the ultimate bomb that will decide my heart's fate.
But before Sakura could reply,Tomoyo burst inside the room."Ok guys,SMILE!"
A startled Li lost his balance and tipped over Sakura.The girl tried to steady him but lost balance too.She could have crashed on the ground if not for his quick move to change their position.It was he who landed on the ground.
"Li-kun!!"exclaimed Sakura.
"Oh my!Are you ok,Li?"asked Tomoyo worriedly.
He rubbed his sore shoulder."Yeah yeah."That was close! From outside the classroom,Eriol watched his classmates with interest."Interesting fools."he said to himself.
THE NEXT DAY...
"Wardrobe,check.Camera,check."Sakura suddenly paused from
double-checking her stuff.She could hear her big brother arguing with someone.She quickly fled down the stairs and found Touya and Syaoran looking at each other menacingly.
"Hey!Stop it,Big Brother!"pleaded the girl. She stood between them"Li-kun is the one who'll accompany me,you know!"
"WHAT?!"Touya bellowed,almost rocking the whole house."NO!" "No refunds,remember?And I already paid it!"Syaoran teased.
"Why you-"Sakura's brother stopped talking when the honk of the bus sounded.
"Time for us to go!"Li picked up Sakura's suitcases."Leave your little sister to me,Mr.Kinomoto,sir."
"Bye,Big Brother!"Sakura waved her hand. Touya let out a defeated sigh.The time he had been dreading had begun:that Sakura will walk out of their house with another man at her side besides him and his dad.
"Love stinks,"he muttered.
