The Song of the Waves-Chapter 3
The next day,the tour guide invited them to a tour around the resort.
"It will be fun!"she assured them.
Li wasn't exactly feeling ok to tour but thinking it would cheer Sakura up,he agreed.
He slowly entered his bedroom and found Sakura fast asleep.He inhaled deeply.
Last night,Sakura pleaded to sleep with him in his room because she's too scared to sleep alone in her room.
He was scared too,but he's more scared for Sakura.What if the long-haired woman turns to Sakura while he's asleep?So the whole night he remained vigil by the bedside,watching Sakura intently.No one's gonna hurt her,not even a strange spirit!
He kneeled down on the bed beside her,careful not to wake his precious one up."You are so beautiful.."he whispered.
His heart beat erraticaly.No,he must do it now!He can't stop himself anymore!He
slowly bent down and planted a soft feathery kiss on the lips of the sleeping
girl.
Sakura woke up when she felt warm breath fanning her face.She slowly opened her eyes and saw Syaoran looking down at her with a frown."Great!What did I do now to displease him this early in the morning?"she thought to herself.
"Get dressed.We'll leave in 15 minutes."he told her curtly before leaving the room.
"Huh?"was all the girl could say as she absent-mindedly touched her lips that the boy kissed just a few minutes ago.
"..And this is the Sea of Tears."said the tour guide,who introduced herself as Ms.Kianna.
"Why the weird name?"asked Sakura.
"A legend says that there was once a queen of the waters who ruled this lake with her son.Her name is Nami.One day,her son disapperead right before
he was crowned as the new ruler of the lake.
But it was prophesied that he would come back after 99 years to bring back the happiness of this lake."she gazed sadly at the peaceful lake."He shall come back to our embrace."
"So do you believe what Ms.Kianna said?"asked Sakura later after the
long tour.
"I don't know."he admitted.He stopped in front of his room and found a roll of newspaper on his doorstep.
"Wow!You got some really good room service to go with your room."she said wistfully.
He stuck his hands in the pocket of his pants."We could swap rooms if
you want."he offered.
She smiled."No thanks.It would be unfair to you since you paid for this room."She peeked inside."Can I see what's inside,though?I never got a chance to really explore it last night."
"Ok."He opened the door for her.
"Wow!What a cool room!"gushed Sakura.
"Of course it is!The aircon's on,see?"he joked as he made 2 cups of hot chocolate for both of them.
"Haha very funny!"She picked up the newspaper and scanned the contents."Hey,what's this?"
He sat down beside her,cups of chocolate in his hands."What's what?"
She took the other cup from him."See this?There's gonna be an eclipse tonight at 8pm!"
He checked his wristwatch."That's gonna be in less than an hour."
Sakura nodded enthusiastically."Let's watch it while having a picnic by the lake!It would then give us a good view of the eclipse."
"Let's start cooking then."he told her.
"Where are you going,kids?"the receptionist called out to them while they were leaving the lobby of the hotel.
"We're gonna watch the eclipse!"explained the girl hurriedly before leaving.
The man stiffened."The eclipse is already beginning.I must get rid of the nuisant pest already."He followed the children.
"This place is so pretty!"gushed Sakura as Li spread the blanket on the
grass.
"Yeah,especially because this is the place where Eriol saved you."He said bitterly.
"Li-kun,are you ok?"asked Sakura.
He fell silent."I'm sorry.It's just that I woke up with this headache and it won't go away so my mood's knda cranky.Sorry."
She reached out and touched his forehead then his hands."No problem.But Li,you might be really sick!Your hands are kinda clammy and you don't look too well!"
He said nothing but he refused to let go of her soft warm hands.
Sakura continued,"Maybe I should take you back to the hotel so you could rest-"
"No one will leave!"a voice barked.
Sakura turned around."Mr.Receptionist!"
The man smirked."Wrong,little girl.I am Thanos,the real ruler of the seas!I am here to make sure I destroy Nami's son once and for all!"He pointed to Li."And you were the one who was destined to carry his spirit here,so for that,I must get rid of you."Without warning,he attacked them.
"Syaoran!!!"screamed the girl fearfully.
Li swiftly picked up a stray branch and used it to block his attack.
"A warrior!Nami's son made a good choice!"Thanos attacked Li again.
Fortunately,the boy was able to counter each and everyone of his move.
Thanos was about to attack him agaib when he noticed something.He looked up."The eclipse is ending!"Knowing that there is no more chance of killing his target,he forced an evil grin."If I can't kill you,then I'll kill your little friend!"He used his powers to make waves appear from nowhere and seize Sakura.
"Sakura!!!"shouted Li.
The man brought his sword down on the fainted girl."Goodbye!"he growled.
Li instantly appeared in front of Sakura and blocked Thanos' sword with his bare hands.Ignoring his heavily bleeding hands,he looked at the man's face."You just made the biggest mistake in your life,Thanos..hurting the person I love the most!"
With that..
"Rai tei sho rai kyu kyu jo ritsu ruo!"
