Sakura and the Wishing Well
Chapter 2

"I wished Sakura made it home safely,"whispered Tomoyo to herself inside the classroom the next day.She looked out of the window and glanced at Li who was sitting all by himself under the tree, unusually quiet in a lonely way.She wanted to ask him what was wrong, but she decided against it."He doesn't want company today." she thought.

"Psst!"someone hissed from somewhere.Tomoyo looked around."Who's there?"she asked.

"Tomoyo,down here!"the mysterious voice said.

The long-haired lass peeped under the teacher's table and found Sakura hidden underneath."What in the world are you doing in there?"

"Pipe down or else he might hear you!"said Sakura, her voice barely audible.

Tomoyo kneeled beside her friend."Who's 'he'?"

"He,as in Yukito!"Sakura told her."If he finds me,he'll start bothering me,annoying me,scaring me-"

Tomoyo motioned her to pause."Wait! Are we talking about, like,Yukito Tsukishiro here?"

The short-haired girl nodded, eyes wide."He's really freaky,Tomoyo! He insists on feeding me every 30 minutes, asks me if I need anything in 15-minute intervals, and calls me 'Mistress' every 3 seconds even in a public place! He's humiliating me!"
"I hate to be the one to suggest this, but have you tried treating him really bad?Maybe he'd then lose interest on you and go away."suggested Tomoyo.

"I already tried that! But it seems he has endless stocks of patience!"She let out a sigh. This, and Syaoran's weird attitude, made sleep next to impossible last night.

"What a nightmare!"she moaned before burying her head on the crook of her arms.
Li sighed as he watched Yukito call out Sakura's name for the nth time.He wanted to help Yuki out in looking for the girl, but that would make him admit he likes Sakura. He wasn't supposed to feel worried about a pathetic,idiotic,helpless,doe-eyed,cheerful, kind,thoughtful...he sighed again. He's a mental case.No matter how hard he tried to fight off this peculiar feeling,it always comes back.. pounding on the door of his heart, demanding to be let in.

And he,the brave and respected descendant of Clow..Li Syaoran, the Little Wolf.. threw his heart's gates, doors, windows and all open.

Pathetic.

"Hey Hongkong lad!"Touya suddenly took a seat beside him, breaking Li's train of thoughts.

The boy opened his notebook, pretending to be deeply interested in his lecture about the composition of organic fertilizers.

"You're a gifted child."began Sakura's elder brother.

Li looked up in surprise.

Touya snickered."You're reading your book upside down."

Syaoran slammed his notebook shut."What do you want?"he asked, resisting the tempting urge to punch the living daylights out of Sakura's brother. After all,he IS Sakura's sibling.

"I just want to know why my friend suddenly became my little sister's shadow."said the man.

"Why ask me?"Syaoran asked,puzzled.

"Because neither Sakura nor Tomoyo wants to tell me!Yuki,on the other hand,is beyond human comprehension."explained Touya Kinomoto. He then gave Li a narrowing look."Besides,it ain't no secret that my sister's welfare is your damn business."

Syaoran gulped.Sakura's brother didn't look exactly like a jolly good fellow right now..which nobody can deny.

Touya sighed."Very well,I just want to ask your help."

"WHAT?!"The boy can't believe it.This arrogant ressurection of Hades needs,no,WANTS his help?"What's with the alignment of the planets today?" muttered Li.

"That's right.I want you to look after my sister.I'm not sure what Yuki could do to her so please,do it."The man looked away."You're the only one who could protect my little sister since I..do not have the power to do so."

Syaoran smiled while thinking,"Touya could sometimes seem like a human.Amazing."

"Have you seen Mistress Sakura?"interrupted Yukito.

While Touya talked to him,Li walked away.He better find Sakura..FAST!

to be continued...
