Wonderful Things made by Gareth |
This page showcases just a few of the things made by Gareth Riseborough. Many are inspired by historic or archaological artifacts, others by mythology and magic. All are individual and made with both skill and care. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. |

Circlets and headpieces in copper, silver, gems and antler |
Silver, electrum, slate, antler and glass form this collections of pendants, pins and touchstones. |
Hairpins in yew and bone, flutes made from a deer legbone and the wingbones of a seagull skeleton found at high tideline, and a goblet/chalice carved from a naturally shaded horn depicting a moongazing hare (the hare chases the moonphases round the goblet) |
Knives wrought from heavy copper with bone and yew wood handles, secured with bronze rivets |

and a detail from a silver bound drinking horn (you can see the whole horn by the shield in the picture below. |
So, who is this Gareth then? As well as being far too talented with a hammer and a blowtorch for his own good, he's also a chef specialising in historic cooking, the author of books on medieval baking and offal cookery (yes, really), and he's rather fetching in a pointy hat too! This page only shows a fraction of his wonderful creations, and I'll put more up as soon as I can extract them from his workshop. In the meantime, he never believes me that he's rather good at what he does, so why not sign the guestbook on this page and let him know that I'm not the only person who thinks he's a bit clever!
