The following SCP Dream Movie is one of the coolest stories I've ever read, but I want to point out that almost every single thing on this page is copyrighted and owned by DC Comics, and was created just for fun. In no way is this meant to be real or an attempt to use material that's not mine for any other purposes than to express opinions on what I wish would happen if this were made into a film. Concerns on this issue, please e-mail me and I will resolve them as soon as I can.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the material, I offer this MINOR SPOILER WARNING. This page will give away which characters are in the story, a brief plot summary, and some pictures (mostly ones I've created), but it will NOT give away any major plot points or fates of characters.

Batman: aRKHAM aSYLUM

PLOT SYNOPSIS:

Written by Grant Morrison; art by Dave McKean

In this painted graphic novel, the inmates of Arkham Asylum have taken over Gotham's mental illness detention center on April Fool's Day and demand Batman in exchange for their prisoners. Accepting their demented challenge, Batman is forced to live and endure the personal hells of the Joker, Scarecrow, Two Face and many more of his sworn enemies in order to save the innocents and retake the prison. During his run through this absurd gauntlet, the Dark Knight Detective's own sanity is in jeopardy.

When I first finished reading it, I had to go back and read it again because it was so detailed and had so much that was implied through the story but never actually said. The artwork for this was amazing, too, and I knew that it would be a great movie only if the director was one with a stylish (and demented) vision. It is my pleasure to present the SCP Dream Movie of Batman: Arkham Asylum.

THE SOUNDTRACK:

This film requires a powerful original score that can fully bring the chaos and beauty that represents insanity in the story to life. It also requires someone who can create themes for certain characters in the story, and weave those themes into the overall theme of the scene. With that in mind, I've chosen someone who's music is unparalled in film, who can create a score that is dark, primal, soft and beautiful, and who's themes are already familiar in the comicbook/film community. However, this film (as with TLH should not repeat the infamous Batman theme that he originally created, but something new and darker.

ORIGINAL SCORE: Danny Elfman

Just as David Fincher's name was the first I thought of as a director, so was Danny Elfman the perfect candidate for the music. Not because of his earlier Batman work, but because he is without a doubt the only person who can write orchestrations that sound so utterly and truely dark.
