Chaifreddo married Lucia Reynaudo 11 October 1894 in Venasca, Piedmont, Italy.

Their son Chaifreddo Bastonero was born April 10, 1871 in Brossasco he married Faconda Catherine Pittavino, who was born August 18, 1868 in Venasca.

He left Italy about 1908 and sailed on the French Liner "La Touraine" from La Harve, France and made his way to Oregon. His family followed him in 1914 to Oregon where they remained.
