Black Hill Letterboxes (2)

One Letterbox was carved and hidden by Ryan and one letterbox was carved and hidden by Amanda.

Clues:
Amanda from Seattle and her Aunt Emily came to visit Ryan in San Luis Obispo. Aunt Emily wanted to go whale watching. We tried to go out on a tour on open-ocean boats from Virg's landing but Aunt Emily gets sea sick and could not go out on a boat. So we decided to hike up Black Hill in order to get a view of the whales passing off the coast!

We went to the top of Black Hill and stood up on that big old rock there at the very top. We had the binoculars out looking for whales when Ryan had to "do his thing" and stepped off onto the next rock (in the direction of South Bay Boulevard) where he accidentally dropped the binoculars into a large crack in the rock! We never were able to find them.

After losing the bincoulars, we started back down the trail to the protection of the trees. Where a waterbar interrupted the trail, we looked off to our left and saw a two-trunked pine with a rock at its base. That is where we discovered a whale-watching letterbox! So Aunt Emily got to see her whale after all! A whale that you do not need binoculars to see!

And you know, we never were able to find those binoculars. If you do, please let us know! =)
