Start at the Wilderness Creek Trailhead.
To reach the trailhead From I-90
Take Exit 15 and drive south on Highway 900 (17th Avenue NW and then Renton-Issaquah Road SE) for 3.3 miles. Look for the trailhead sign and an asphalt driveway that goes uphill to the right. You can park here, there is a portapotty and trail maps are also available here.
Follow the Wilderness Creek Trail to the Long View Peak viewpoint. (approx. 2 miles) At the viewpoint there is a hitching post for Horses. To the left of the hitching post and just behind it is a multi-trunked tree. Look behind this tree and under a log for the letterbox.
You can also combine this letterbox with the Halloween Letterboxes. From the 2nd Halloween letterbox backtrack on the Quarry Trail until you reach Shy Bear Trail. Follow this trail to the Long View Peak viewpoint. Or you can start with this letterbox and take Shy Bear Trail to Quarry Trail and Pick up the Halloween clues at the junction of Coal Creek Falls Trail and Quarry Trail. (The trail map will help you tremendously with this!)
The Shy Bear Letterbox is also nearby and be sure to investigate the Mysterious Letterboxes in the area!!
