This letterbox is based on the song "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" written by: Neil Diamond, Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman.
You Don't Bring Me Flowers,
You don't hike with me,
You never letterbox anymore,
When you go thru the door,
You take a GPS.
I remember when,
You couldn't wait to letterbox,
You used to hate the Ammo Box,
Now you look at Long and Lat every night.
When you log onto Yahoo,
and you're surfin' a site,
it's geocaching dot com,
and that just isn't right.
It used to be so natural,
to talk about the clues.
But Clues don't interest you anymore.
They just are a bore,
and you throw them away.
And Baby I remember,
all the things you taught me.
I learned how to carve,
and I learned how to stamp.
Well, I learned how to love,
letterboxes, even if damp!
Well, You'd think I could learn,
how to geocache too.
And You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore!
Well, You think I could learn,
how to tell you Goodbye.
You are blinded by technology.
You don't hike with me.
You Don't Bring Me Flowers Anymore!
Go into the Gardens through the lovely gate and find out how many horseshoes are on the Elda's Paradise sign. Now you can return toward the lower parking lot and take the path behind the sign for City of SeaTac Parks and Recreation.
This sign has been taken down, but you can see the post where the sign used to be! Go past the concrete "barriers" and take the path to the right. 30 x the number of horseshoes steps brings you to a fork in the path. Take the right fork. 25 x the number of horseshoes steps brings you to a 4-way intersection. The fir tree on the left has the letterbox hidden behind it, underneath pieces of rock and concrete.
For those that are so inclined, there is also a geocache at this park!
