Malaysia 1999:

After my first flight with Lauda-Air (Boeing 777!)we landet at about 07.00 morning in Kuala Lumpur;the weather was already very warm and increased to the normal everyday average of about 32°C (with about 80% humidity);KLs airport is brand-new and about 70km south of the city. At the airport a limousine already waited for us and brought us to the Renaissance Hotel. What was already very strange for us was that the driver sits on the right and drives on the left side. If you are not used to, it looks really funny. After checkin and a long breakfast at the hotels breakfast longue we started our city-trip. With the bus we first went downtown and from there direktly to the Batu Caves (southend of KL). Many stairs bring you up to a very big cave with lots of religious hindu statues and symbols. Back in KL we made a walk through downtown. Here you find many british buildings, a large cricket place and the highest flag of the world. A must is also: the central market and the train station. That was all for the first day.
After a long brakfast at the hotels longue we visited the state mosche  (no shows and U have to wear a long coat to hide your skin). Just a few minutes away is another big attraction of KL. A very big bird garden with birds from all over the world in very large cages. Close to is KLs very beautiful Orchid-garden. Because it was also close, we stopped at the butterfly-garden. Due to that we R not very used to that hot climate, we decided to go back to the hotel and spend a few hours at the hotels pool. The actually highest buildig of the world (Twin Towers or Petronas Towers) were close to the hotel but they R not accesable for turists. Its just an office building. So we decided to get a great night view from another very high tower: XXXXXXX. The view was great and I made some really good night pictures with long time exposure. The evening ended with a small pool billard competition in the hotels bar.
After checking out, a hotel limo brought us to the car rental office from where we started our round trip. After a stop for lunch at a highway station we arrived in Melaka. We checked in at the Bayview hotel, about 15 min to walk away from downtown.
