KONRAD KEIL

Hello to everybody out there. Konrad here, sorry for not writing in earlier but you know how time flies and you keep putting things back (must be the Samoan in me).

Anyway, here's a brief summary of whats been happening to me since I left Samco in 83' (boy, that's 16 yrs ago) One of my sad moments in life was having to leave all my "friends" that year being our final year in College. Especially when most of us came all the way from Malifa - Leififi -etc... I ended up doing 6th & 7th form in N.Z at Sacred Heart College in Akl (84' & 85' respectively). I started my NZCE course in electronics in 86' at the Akl. Tech. Inst. I followed on in the electronics field by taking up an apprenticeship with Fisher & Paykel in Akl. servicing Panasonic equipment

I met my wife to be in the beginning of 86' and 3yrs later in the beginning of 89' we got married in Samoa. We lived in Akl. for approx. 3yrs then we decided to move to Samoa in the beginning of 92'. We have been here ever since and are enjoying it very much. My Wife's name is Cecilia Peterson from Vaivase and we have 3 boys.1st one born Dec 90' named Reginald, 2nd one born Jul 93' named Lawrence and the 3rd one born Oct 96 named Anthony. The first 2 look like their mum but the last one I've been told time and time again looks like a splitting image of me. (I must have put a lot of work into this one).

We have a couple of small business which keep us busy here on the rock 1. Party & Function Hire which mainly focuses on the hire of Tents, Chairs,Tables and 2. Mama's Bakery where we concentrate on local market products such as Keke Saiga, Masi Popo etc. That is roughly what I have been up to in the past 15 yrs.

Earlier this year my wife and I went to Syd for Our 10th anniversay and also because that,s where the Touch Rugby World Cup was held. I represented Samoa in the Mens Over 30's (I was actually the only local selected. The other guys were from Akl., Wgt .Chrch .,Melb,. and Syd) I am proud to say that we won the Bronze Medal. Aust. won the Gold and Lebanon won the Silver. The other power houses like N.Z., Eng., USA., Japan, and S.Africa didn't make it into the medals.

Well that is it for now, I hope everybody else that hasn't written in hops to it.

Just a word of advice to all those aspiring to move back home.

1. Don't compare Samoa with where-ever you are currently living as you will only get frustrated (you must get used to it's "system") 2. When you get here it's ok to get involved in various activities/comittees but be careful not to get overly involved as this jeopardises family time and eventualy puts strain on relationships etc. Cecilia and I always try and go out together as going out     alone often causes "technical difficulties" if practised too often. 3. Finally, if possible it is better to do something on your own. It doesn't have to make you a millionaire (although that would be nice) but you will have your freedom to come and go as you please and you won't have to answer to anybody (you know how you love to take those 3hr lunches).Okay, that's it for now. Every body take care of yourselves (and your families if it applies)
