Hey! I'm making a web page of one of my favorite Austrailan singer, Merril Bainbridge! I bet not many of you know her, now do you? She grew up in Thornbury, an inner northern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria which is in SE Australia. She has two brother (Colin and Stephen) and three sisters (Robyn, Janine, & Viven). She started out playing with cover bands and whatever in some Melbourne pubs (aka bar like things). Around 1990, she found her manager, Ooi, and in 1994, signed to Gotham Records. I gathered most of this information for other pages so if it's not correct, don't go blaming me.

Well, here in America, her most popular song is: Mouth. {If you click on it, you see the lyrics for it, *hint hint*} It was number one for six weeks on May 21st, 1995. It stayed in the charts for a total of 27 weeks, 4-9-95 to 8-27-95. Her album first came out Tuesday, September 24, 1996. The Garden in My Room seems sort of gothic to me, an image that doesn't really fit her. Her second song, Under the Water, stayed up for number four for a week. It's total number of weeks in the charts was 16 weeks, between these dates: 7-30-1995 to 11/12/1995. It has an upbeat sort of rythym. For those of you not too familar with that, she sings Under the Water with two other male singers. Their names are O. Bolwell & S. Paulzen. Her 5th song, Julie which sort of reminds me of Alanis Morsette's Mary Jane, altho I have no idea why except maybe because it's a girls name. She finally has some new music out.
