The below poem was written
especially for my daughter
Sammie
and presented to her on
March 26, 2007.
I love you Sammie!

When I met you the first
time,
I knew you were unique,
I heard you laugh and sing,
I heard you speak,
I saw a passion in you,
Your head held high,
Though your youth went
wrong,
I heard your cries,
You have suffered much pain,
You did not deserve,
Your blood now stained,
From a love that never was,

You’re much smarter today,
You’ve made your own way,
You’ve made great choices,
You have your say,

I want you to know,
That you’ve impressed me
most,
I see a fine lady,
And a very gracious host,

I want to tell you about
love and life,
The stars and the heavens
above,
I want to see you all grown
up and happy,
Mostly I want to see you
fall in love,

The man of your dreams,
You will someday meet,
I’ll cherish the day,
He sweeps you off your feet,

When that day comes,
And he asks for your hand,
When that day comes,
You’ll walk hand in hand,

I want you to know,
That you make me smile,
The princess I see,
I’ll be proud to someday
walk down the isle,
Though blood we do not
share,
That makes me sad,
I’m proud as a peacock,
I’m honored to be called
your dad!
All My Love,
Dad |
