Mission:
I led an army of foxes, stoats, weasels, pine martins, rats, and
wolves to Redwall Abbey where I met the wolves. There were about 300
of
them, and their leader was a cunning wolf named Gringepaw. The wolves
were mostly armed with large clubs and spears but Gringepaw shouldered
a
longbow and wielded a large rapier. The wolves had the Abbey
surrounded
and were firing dead animals over the walls to spread disease
throughout
the Abbey grounds. But, some crafty squirrels were launching a sneak
attack. I learned this when me and my men were walking through
Mossflower woods when and arrow flew through the air and pierced one of
my rats through the heart. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a grey
figure leap through the air and into another tree. I told most of my
pine martins to climb up into the trees and slay whatever was up there.
A few moments later three squirrel carcasses fell out of the trees.
The
pine martins climbed back down and told me that many more squirrels
were
in the trees surrounding the camp of the wolves. Quickly I sent all of
my men who could shoot a bow or sling over to the camp. Those men shot
slingstones and arrows into the trees. Many of these hit their marks
and sent wounded or dead squirrels falling out of the treetops. Soon
all the squirrels were either dead, captured, except for the few that
escaped alive. I had a meeting with Gringepaw and we made a truce with
each other. After the meeting we had our men start to make a battering
ram. After the battering ram was finished we made a makeshift cieling
out of wood and connected it so that it hung over the men that were
operating the ram, so they could not be hurt by things from above. We
also set archers and slingers by the walls and ordered them to shoot at
anybeast that showed it's head over them. Soon we had about twenty
strong vermin banging the battering ram against the Abbey gates. After
a while the battering ram broke the gate down, revieling a small army
of
Redwallers ready to fight for their Abbey. After a short battle we had
slain all of the brave beasts and captured the rest of the goodbeasts
in
Redwall. We went to work making Redwall into a formidible fortress for
vermin warriors. Soon we had strong wooden walls built around the
Abbey
walls for extra protection and had new strong iron gates put into each
entrance in the walls. We built a barracks and made the Abbey a
magnificent castle fit for Lord Ublaz! After all that was finished we
asked the wolves if they wanted to join Ublaz's empire. We promised
them many chances to slay goodbeasts and get gold. Gringepaw said he
would agree under one condition, that he and his warriors got to stay
in
the new and improved Redwall Abbey. I told them that it was up to Lord
Ublaz to make that decision. So, now I'm back on Sampetra and I asked
Lord Ublaz about the wolves staying in Redwall Abbey, which was renamed
Bloodspire Castle. Lord Ublaz still hasn't given and answer, but I
await his decision.
