Mission 184
by Vicetooth

Mission:
One day Ublaz was in his chambers when he called to me. As soon as I was there he said to me,"Vicetooth my faithful ferret, you are willing to do a mission for me I here?" Rigid with fear I stammered "Yers S...Sire." Ublaz poured himself a cup of wine and replied "Good. Then I have a great Mission for you. There is a clan of wolves at Redwall. They play games like Gawrybe squirrels and I want you to go and find the wolves and help them on their little schemes. Take two score vermin with you and go as soon as you can." I saluted and in fourteen days I had arrived at Redwall Abbey.

One night while we were camping two weasels were conversing in low tones. I crept closer to them to listen what they were saying.

"Dis is hopeless matey. Two days of wasteful searchin for a bunch of wolves dat are playin games. What's Ublaz up to?" His comerade shrugs and replies "Nuthin we can do about it though. I guess we'll just have to keep searchin till we finds 'em"

I waited for them to go on, but there was silence. I turned around and they were gone! Then I heard a whisper, "Die!" I scanned the bushes but no-one was to be seen. I walked into my tent and told no-one of what had happened.

The Next morning I woke to find the two weasels in the middle of the camp, tied up and gagged, with cuts and bruses all over them. As soon as they were cut free, one of them thrust a bloodstained scrap of bark at me, and gasped out, "Letter.....to....you......from......from...wolves." Then he colasped on the ground with his comerade whose skull had been badly injured and had died through the morning. Grasping the soggy piece of bark I read it aloud to my horde,

To the ferret and his army, Hunt us no longer, we have found you and a meeting will take place. A little South of here is a stream, I will meet you there at midday today. Bring one of your vermin.

Vamon D.Vermot

I threw the bark into a fire and said to the horde, "At midday we will go to see this Vamon D.Vermot. I have been to the stream and there is a clearing there. You will stand away from the clearing and I will go there and wait for this creature."

At Midday we set off to the clearing. Once there I grouped the horde away from the clearing and stepped into it alone. Surely, within moments a wolf marched into the clearing and came up to me. I gripped my dagger that was hidden under my cloak and said "I am Vicetooth Poisonfang of the great Emporer Ublaz at Sampetra" Shaking my free claw the big wolf replied "I am Vamon D.Vermot, Leader of my wolf clan. What do you want with us?" I released my claw from his grasp and answered "To help with you in your work of stressing Redwallers. It will be pleasure to get back at the doings they have done to us." The wolf cocked his head to one side and said "An why do yer want to do that?" I stood up proudly and answered, "Cause our Emporer Ublaz says that any vermin that is doing cruelty to vermin must be helped in any way, be it war, or just for fun, we must help."

Vamon looked quizingly at me, then gave up on the idea and said "So be it! If you want to play you can, but you must think something up for us to play, we are running out of ideas." I replied, making it up as I went "How about we, er, er, poison the crops in their orchards and see how long it takes them to come out into Mossflower. Then block their way into the Abbey and see how well they will survive in the woodlands, or we could, er, steal one of their infants for a while and make them panic. They'll go into Mossflower and we can hunt them, er for fun?" The wolf clapped his paws in joyment and he cackled "Excelent!!! Get your horde, I will go and get mine, we will join forces and play your games!Meet you here in a few minutes." I ran off to my horde to tell them the news.

When we came back the wolf was standing infront of a score of wolves that were mean looking and vicious. Vamon turned to me and sang in an wicked voice, "Come, O Vicetooth, may our games and winnings be all good and rewarding to us!" This sent a loud cheer from the wolves and eventuly my horde had joined in them and were cheering in one voice.

The next day we were ready to proceed with the poisoning. Vamon had many poison plants and bottles filled with deadly acids and strong smelling powder that was known as 'Deathdust" that could kill a full sized badger. We soon climbed a tree that was looking over the whole orchad and then tossed the stuff in. A hedgehog was there and she ran away screaming, "Ah. the plants are dying all of a sudden and it's raining acid." Hearing the hedgehog the wolves and Vamon were giggling, clapping claws across mouths to stop from bursting with laughter at the thought of a redwaller burning on the head and all she can think about is plants. In the end I had a giggle or two. Shortly afterwads a bunch of Redwallers left the Abby and headed for the woodlands. We stood infront of the doors once they had gone to stop them from going into the Abbey again. After a while Vamon and his horde left, saying they wanted to go out and hunt the redwallers.

Later on they came back with a group of redwallers who we stole their belongings, and slayed them all while the other redwallers were whatching. After several games of this, me and my horde got tyred of it. So we spent the next several days getting back to Sampetra with our stolen loot.
