Mission 250

Mission:
Day 1,

This afternoon I received information that Grog had beed disappearing from the stores on Sampetra. I was assigned to find the theif and kill him/her. I am debating with myself how to catch the theif. The storeroom is a wooden building with a dirt floor. The grog has been disappearing in casks. It would be quite a feat to escape with a cask. I am unsure how it would be done. If the grog continues to disappear and there is grog shortage there could be unrest in Sampetra.

Day 2,

After a grog inventory was taken last night it was found that 5 casks of grog had disappeared from the storeroom. That is incredible. I don't know how anyone could do that! It must be a conspiracy. I have set a constant guard outside and in the storeroom of the grog. Only beasts I trust too.

Day 3,

Last night, even with the guards, 4 casks of grog disappeared. The grog had been stacked in 3x3 columns 2 casks high. In the center of the column, the two casks had disappeared. No others. I have decided to try something out. I am going to be packed in a cask tonight. I will be put in the center of a column. The guards will stay in the storeroom. I am going to try to get "stolen" by the theif. I am just large enough to fit in the cask and not be to horribly cramped. All I can fit in the cask is a small tool to get me free, and a Falchion (A small sword).

Day 4,

Last night, as I sat in the cask, I suddenly felt like I was moving downwards. Then I was carried along a cavern. I heard muffled snickering. Then I was set down. Awhile later I heard two pair of footsteps approach and then leave. When I was sure of my lonlieness I escaped the barrel. What I saw was a surprise. There, in the torchlit room was a large number of casks. I was in some sort of cavern. I could see that the room I was in was a storage area. There were two passsages, each heading in opposite directions. I drew my Falchion, took a wall torch, and headed down the hall on my right. After about one hundred paces, I began to hear voices. I crept up to the end of the hall and peeked into a room. There with their backs to me sat three stoats. They were not small either. They were strong looking. I did not recognize them. They were laughing heartily and drinking heavily. "Stupid vermin up there! They don't know we have their grog!. They don't know how we got it either!" then another said, "The guards just sit there as we rob them blind. Soon the island will go in revolt because they'll blame eachother for the theft. Then Briggard will come and take over! Hah hah haaaaaa." I then went the other way so as not to be detected, I knew enough for the time being. I went down the other corridor from the storage room. At the end of it was a room with columns and a wooden ceiling. I noticed that the wood was marked in certain places. The marked tiles had cloumns holding them up. When I removed a column then a square of ceiling, I saw dirt caked in a exact square shape of the wood. The square of ceiling just barely stayed Then I looked where the ceiling piece would of been. I saw the center of one of the grog cask columns that had been emptied earlier. The columns held up the squares and the thiefs lowered the casks quietly. I climbed out of the hole and left the celing down. I summoned the guards and we went down and captured the thieves. After questioning we found ou that Briggard was a beast on the mainland who had sent them.

Day 5,

Today I lopped off the thieves' heads and a party has been dispatched to deal with Briggard and to punish him for his ill-made plan. Order has been restored.
