Mission:
Slackjaw and his forces have put the palace under seige, and with
only
four loyal crews still with us, winning would be tough. It was the
second
day of the revolt, and luckily we had been able to hold off the rebels.
The
mighty emperor Ublaz called me to his throne.
"Rakesi, you have been very loyal to me before, and now I ask of your assistance. These rebels have caused a great deal of damamge and I wish for you to dispose of them for me. You may use any means necessary, but I warn you, if you fail me I shall have your head!"
"Yes, my lord. It shall be done" I decided that the first that I should do is to fortify the fortress so I could think of a good plan for retaliation. I called several of my most loyal companions to me (more specifically, the Grog Squad) and we divided into six teams. Each team would have a specific task, and all together it would be easy to wall off the enemy. Dingeye's team was to shore up earth in front of the gates and any other vunerablr parts of the fortress. Romsca's team was to collect as many available weapons as possible. Akki's team was to seal off as many supplies as possible in case of need for backup. Lilith's team was to go by night out of a secret entrance to the castle in search of extra supplies, and Rippclaw and myself worked in a team to improve the wall defences.
The next day, all of our groups went to work, and luckily the enemy had taken a brief respite and none of our crewmembers were killed. Lilith had departed by night with her small group and would be back in a few days. I called a meeting for Dingeye, Rippy, Romy, Akki, Ublaz, and myself to come up with a plan to counter-assault the enemy and destroy them. A popular plan was merely to sit the seige out and attack once the enemy was weary, but Ublaz reminded us that our supplies were very limited. It was decided that it would be wise to attack very soon, but an open battle would be a bloodbath, for their numbers were far greater than ours. It was decided that sniping was the best thing we could do just yet, and a few dedicated sniping posts created by me would be perfect. The next day, all good snipers (including myself) were assigned a sniping post, and a huge quiver of arrows or stone pouch.
Many enemies were killed, but just not enough. We held another council of war that night, and luckily damage reports were few. Three snipers killed, and one destroyed Sniping post, but besides that we were lucky. Lilith had come back, and some supplies were brought back, but not a lot. We had to fight now!
Just then, there was a knocking at the gate. Thump. Thunk. Thump. Thunk. Slackjaw was mounting his final attack! All forces were mustered to the outer walls, and all took positions in sniping posts or near rubble deposits for "distribution" among the foe. As our fighters were about to fire, the large bulk of the rebel army stood up and fired. Many a valiant soldier were lost, and as the rubble crews were lifting stones and earth over the walls onto the heads of the battering-ram operators, they got through. 'That's enough!' I thought to myself. 'They want me, they've got me!!!'
Summoning up all of my strength, I whipped out my staff and slew many of my foes, who untill recently were my mates and crewmembers. Then I saw him.
The rat leader was urging his army from behind, as usual. Seizing the oppurtunity, I ran head-long for the rat, and with one clean sweep lopped his head off. All was quiet. The massed horde, seeing their leader dead, lost all hope and surrendered. We did not kill them, for they were our own and would be a grave mistake to dispose of them.
Since then, no rebel uprisings have taken place, but you'll never know untill it's too late...
