Mission:
Secret Goldmine! Mathic and his handpicked canine army crept forward through Mossflower wood. Mathic gave the signal to halt. His two scouts came back crashing through the underbrush.

"Sir, I believe we have found the secret gold mine!"

"Were there any guards you saw?" Mathic asked

"There were only about 5 and they had guard posts." replied the scout

"But I think there are some booby traps." blurted the other

Later that night the army sat around a campfire telling jokes and playing cards when a small mole stumbled into camp. Five men quickly surrounded him and pinned him to the ground. As Mathic came out of tent the mole was pleading to let him go. The mole was about to be killed when he decided that this puny mole might be of some use.

"What do you know about that gold mine over that ridge?" Mathic inquired

"Its not a gold mine, its a... mill, yes its a mill."

"Really?"

"No. It is a gold mine"

"How many guards are there?"

"7 outside, 12 inside and there are 22 workers. Once you get inside, there will be 5 tunnels take the furthest on the left."

"Take him to the prison tent and he'll wait there till tomorrow night."

The morning later the camp was busy preparing for the engagement. Swords sharpening and practice were all common. Mathic explained the plan to his four commanding officers.

" We will have a selection of 25 warriors to go and take out guard 3. Cut the mesh fencing and infiltrate. Have ten warriors sit until mole boy opens the gate. Have the 15 others go around back and take out guards 4 and 5 leave one man per guard. After that is done I will have mole boy open the gate and two of my snipers will take down not kill the tower guards. At that moment the two groups will rush the 4 remaining moles. After we have secured the exterior. We will wait for the other 30 warriors. Once we are all inside the mine we will split into 10 man search parties. So far we will have captured eight moles including Mole Boy. The three tunnels on the right lead to nowhere so just go down and see if you can find any mole guards. If you do, capture them. As I make my way down the tunnel we will encounter three moles. As we enter the main chamber there will be two guards. The two snipers will have an aim on them and we will order them to drop their weapons. I believe they will because moles a naturalists not warriors. We will enter, round up the workers and collect the gold. The chamber contained 700 lbs. when the scouts came back and Mole Boy said that the amount excavated doubles each day so there will be about 2800 lbs. of gold. We will walk all the prisoners out of the mine where the moles captured earlier will be waiting. Remember attack quickly and beware of booby traps. Now brief your men"

As nightfall came the men took their positions the two archers on the ridge, and group A crept to the first guard post. A warrior scampered up the pole silently and with much ease. He bopped the mole on the head and he crumpled. The warrior dragged him down by the scruff of his neck. My captain Arevir Silverback slit a gash down the fence. All the warriors crept through. Ronsail Blackeye commanded the ten that stayed. The 15 led by Silverback crept forward. They took out guards 4 and 5 with as much ease as they did with the first. Now that both teams were in place I sent forward Mole Boy. "Sir's can ye please open thee gate" he hollered

"State your name and position" blurted the tower guard.

" Smithens Hugo, Worker 21"

At that moment the two guards beckoned to open the gate. The rusted gate started to creak open the battle started two arrows pierced the night sky and the shoulder flesh of both guards. The teams successfully caught all 4 moles that were not shot. Silverback cut a long strip from the fence and made a holing pen for the 10 moles. Mathic ordered 5 of his me to guard them.

As they entered the mine Mathic led a team to the far right, Silverback to the right, Asfen to the middle, Berthil left, and Narmino to the far left. On the way down the tunnel the snuck up on a single guard and chained him. Farther and farther in the temperature was rising from the cool 50's of the morning dusk to almost 96 degrees. Later Mathic and his crew made it to the last two guards they were grabbed and gagged. Finally after a long mission the Mathic had finally made it to the main chamber. The two snipers took aim at both guards. One guard held a small cutlass and the other had a sword. As soon as Mathic told them to drop their weapons the guard with cutlass charged he had courage but no brain. Both arrows flew and hit. The force of the impact knocked the guard off his feet. The smarter guard got on his hands and knees as his sword clattered to the floor. The workers were startled by the commotion and some tried to run out but were stopped. Mathic went over to the guard that was injured and studied the damage. One arrow was in his shoulder and the other was in his thigh. Mathic had the 20 workers and the healthy guard carry out 133 lbs. of gold. They workers set the gold on a cart that would be taken to the ship. Silverback came back with 2 guards, Asfen brought 1, Berthil brought 2, and Narmino brought 2.

On the way home Mathic couldn't guess how Ublaz would feel when he brought back 2800 lbs. of Gold.
