Mission:
Finding one of our sea rats dead on the shore with an arrow protruding through his neck does not cause much disturbance at Sampetra. However, when the dead sea rat has a note attached to him that claims that our Emperor Ublaz will be the next one to die many things our done quickly and with great caution.

Such was the case when I found a dead sea rat on the shores of Sampetra with such a note attached to him. Immediately I , Captain Mark Darknight, was assigned to devise a plan that would keep our Emperor safe and catch the Murderer. I began By first trying to figure out how a vermin who was going to try to assassinate an Emperor would do so. I thought the most likely way would be to try to snipe him from a distance. With this in mind I could already eliminate extra guards as a guaranteed way to protect Ublaz. Thus the next thing I thought would be to disguise Ublaz as a regular soldier until the assassin was captured and executed. This was done and another seabeast was selected to play Ublaz's role. Extra guards were ordered to "protect" the imposter emperor.

The next thing to do was simply to wait until the assassin made his move. I carefully watched over the fake Ublaz for days which soon turned into weeks and then even a month. With threats of me being killed for my plan not working I decided that I best take some extra action to make sure the assassin would be caught. I decided that I would pretend to switch imposter Ublazs so htat it would look like the real Ublaz was resuming his position.

Again several days passed the assassin made his move. At a banquet several arrows were fired at the imposter Ublaz killing him instantly. I gave chase to the assassin knowing that no one else was sure to capture the real assassin. I found him climbing one of the walls. I began the ascent knowing that I would be able to climb the wall much faster than he was. However, because he had the head start he made it over the wall just before I could get to him.

Knowing that I might not get another chance to capture this would be assassin I continued my pursuit into the forest. After running for about 15 minutes I lost site of h and began to slow down thinking that he had probably stopped to get a breather. All of the sudden out of nowhere he came flying out of a tree swinging on a vine. He managed to catch me off balance and I was knocked to the hard ground. Quickly spinning up I threw my throwing knife and sliced the vine he had been swinging on. Then drawing my sword I charged at him hoping that he was stunned from his recent fall. He was which provided plenty of time for me to solidly knock him out cold.

I dragged him back to the palace for him to be tortured and then executed.
