Mystery-Terry McCaleb is a good FBI agent who had to retire two years ago due to a heart attack on the job and needed a transplant. Now Graciella Rivers comes to his house-boat, asking him for help to solve the case of her dead sister. Terry wonders why, and she says that her sister's heart is in him. So he accepts even though he's not a licensed Private Investigator. NOw he must find the culprit while facing his heart troubles.
8/10-I don't really know why, I just really liked it. Although billed as a "thriller", I counted it as more of a mystery, because the only thrilling part was the final chase scene. Some critics say it moves too slow, but I thought it went at just the right pace. I thought, during the movie, there would be some plot holes, but the only thing I didn't understand at the end was the ATM guy. The murderer was someone I should have suspected but didn't. I'm never good at mysteries.
I love Anjelica Huston; she needed a bigger role than just the doctor. She's a really good actress and I'm glad she's starting to get more parts than just Morticia in The Addams Family. Jeff Daniels' zany character was fine but didn't really do anything for me. Clint Eastwood showed his one facial expression and reminded me of Woody Allen, getting the girls young enough to be his daughter.
Rated R for violence and language.
