Crime Drama/Thriller-Jerry Lundegaard is a car salesman who can't really say no. However, he is in desperate need of money so he hires Carl Showalter and Gaear Grimsrud to kidnap his wife and have her father Wade Gustafson pay the ransom. Then Carl, Gaear, and Jerry would split the money. After Carl and Gaear kidnap her and kill some people along the way, prengant police officer in Brainerd named Marge Gunderson arrives at the case. From then on, Jerry must try to calm Wade and his son Scotty while Carl and Gaear kill more and make more demands.
9/10-First of all, I would like to say that Bill here needed to win his Oscar. His performance from this film alone made him my favorite actor. He is so sincere in is acting-his facial expressions were so detailed. Frances won an Oscar for best actress, well deserved. The music was so vibrant, it felt like you were in Fargo and Brainerd, with zero degree temperatures and murders abound. I can't think of anyone who can't like this movie. I love it so much.
Rated R for violence and language.
