Comedy-Ferris Bueller has a reputation of skipping school. He does so one day by pretending to be sick. His sister, Jeanie, knows about it and is dying to tell his parents. Ferris calls his also-feigning-illness friend Cameron to come along, steal his dad's fancy car, and pick up Ferris' girlfriend Sloan from school. All this looks like a truancy case, and Dean Edward Rooney knows it. He investigates the case further, even by going into the Bueller's house. Now Ferris, Cameron, and Sloan must return on time while Rooney and Jeanie find evidence that Ferris is not sick.
3/10-I only laughed about 3 times, and smiled twice. It had a fine premise, but I expected better from a John Hughes film. You could tell how hard it was trying to be funny by each time they said a bad word. If I was in the theater, all the ten-year-olds would crack up. Even Ben Stein didn't make me laugh. It was also extremely predictable. Also, at the end, I was rooting for Jeanie to beat Ferris home. Movies are supposed to make you root for the main character, but it's obvious that we're supposed to root for the bad guy. The supposed "bad guy" had everything bad happen to him, while Ferris had everything go perfectly. Sounds more like a Home Alone.
Rated PG-13 for language and idiotic slapstic violence.
