Action-Strong warrior Mathayus is hired to kill evil prince guy Memnon. He then kidnapps beautiful (what else?) sorceress of Memnon Cassandra. She is too important to the prince to go without. Balthazar, leader of an opposing peoples, agrees to help out Mathayus on his murderous quest, while strange scientist Philos helps in any way he can.
5/10-An unnecessary prequel to the Mummy series. It was fine as it was, but Universal just said, "Ah, we need more money". So they churn out this fun but totally unrelated prequel. Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, may very well be the next Arnold. But the script writers must have been fired in the making-it seems that The Rock has been shot numerous times but still comes out unscathed. Oh well. The CGI (computer graphics) were simply obvious.
Rated PG-13 for action, sensuality, and juicy sound effects.
