Drama-Pete O'Malley is a normal third-grader; he likes going to the beach and playing baseball. At the end of second grade, his Christian school teacher tells him he better shape up and not act up during the next year. So Pete decides to go on a quest to convert Jews into Christianiaty. He finds Rabbi Jacobsen at a synagogue and meets his son Danny, who has leukemia (sp?). He tells Danny that to get into heaven he must convert and has to do a decathalon to do so. So now Pete has to help Danny get into heaven while his mean father takes more control over the family.
5/10-Not really moving or touching. There is some solid lump-in-the-throat in the middle of the movie, but it soon ends. I'm glad Project Greenlight exists (where they fund an aspiring director to make his first movie), but I think they could have done better this time. Also, the predictability was pretty extreme.
Rated PG for language and thematic elements.
