Action-Xander Cage is a person who likes to do daredevil stunts and get away with them. But the police get him, and the NSA tell him that he will become a secret agent and his criminal transgressions will be disregarded. Xander, or X, or XXX (triple-x) goes to the Czech Republic and gets dirt on dangerous people who work in a nightclub. He has to stay and find out more, and he falls in love, too.
5/10-I thought it would be mindless fun-no need to pay attention to the plot. How wrong I was. The plot was so crazy, they spend too much time on it. Also, there weren't as many action scenes as I thought. The ones that were there, however improbable they were, were awesome. I'm surprised that someone as well-established as Sam Jackson would take on this role; his character had no depth and Sam shouldn't have accepted it. There were Bond-ish situations-the bad guy telling the hero his plan just about when he's going to kill him, etc. So, to sum it all up, some scenes were mind-blowing and others were mind-numbing. Some of the special effects were obvious.
Rated PG-13 for violence, language, and sexy ladies.
