PREPERATIONS AND DOSAGE
For insomnia; take a few seeds in a glass of milk
before going to bed.

Tea made from equal parts; anise,
caraway abd fennel excellent intestinal purifier.

Because of its sweetness, anise is a good additive
to improve flavor of other medicines.

Alcohol extracts the medicinal properties
of anise are more effective than water.

INFUSION
Use 1 teaspoon crushed seed to 1/2 to 1 cup boiling water.
Steep 10 minutes and strain.
Take 1 to 1 1/2 cups during the day.
A mouthful at a time.

DECOCTION
For colic boil 1 tablespoon seed
in 1/2 pint milk for 10 minutes; strain and drink hot.

TINCTURE
To prepare
Add 2 ounce seed to 1/2 quart brandy.
Add some clean lemon peels and let stand
in a sunny place for 20 days, then strain.
Take 1 teaspoon at a time.

ANISE WATER
Boil 1/2 teaspoon seed in half pint of water, then strain.
Crushed Anise can be made into a tea.
Preparations of essential oil of Anise can be used for inhalation.

ANISE TEA
To calm stomach or relieve gas
crush 1 teaspoon of aniseed in 1 cup boiling water.
Steep 10 to 20 minutes. Drink up to 3 cups a day.
For additional stomach relief,
add dried or fresh peppermint leaf.

Anise tea for an infant; dilute one half cup of tea
with one half cup of water.
Cool suffiently.

TYPICAL DOSE
When taken orally, the usual daily dosage is:

Dried Anise seed: 3 grams
(a heaping half-teaspoonful)

RECOMMENDED DOSE
One teaspoonful of seeds for every cup of boiling water,
steep 10-20 minutes and strain, drink 3 cups daily for maximum effect.
