There are many kinds of Acacia Gum in commerce:

Australian Gum

Imported from South Australia,
is in elongated or globular pieces,
rough and even wrinkled on the surface and of a violet tint,
which distinguishes it from other varieties.

It is not entirely soluble in water, to which it imparts
less viscidity than ordinary Gum Acacia.
It frequently contains tannin.
