scenes from Warwick's campus

The wysteria walk in the Social Studies buildingAlthough not an old university, the University of Warwick has quickly established itself as a leading academic institution in Great Britain, ranked 5th as a research institution in The Financial Times poll behind Cambridge, London School of Economics, Oxford, and Imperial College in London.  Warwick has approximately 18,000 students, 20% of whom are international students.  Popular places on the campus include the Arts Centre (the largest performance and visual art complex of its kind in the UK, outside London) and the Student Union.

The University is located near Coventry, England, a city that was devastated by the German air raids during World War II.  Coventry continues to be an industrial centre and the new nave of Coventry Cathedral is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its consecration.  Also in the West Midlands is Birmingham, Britain's second city of one million.

The Department of Politics and International Studies offers postgraduate degrees in international relations, international political economy, globalization and development, and politics.  I am a student of the M.A. in International Relations programme along with 70 other students.  This is one of the largest programmes in international relations in the United Kingdom.

I am currently taking three modules:

Theories of International Relations Dr. Hazel Smith
European Integration Dr. Ben Rosamond
International Assistance Professor Peter Burnell
